Hi Adriana,

I was talking with Mary and she gave me some great info to pass on. 

  • Essentially the internet is not case-sensitive, so if someone types two uppercase i's versus two lowercase i's in your domain name the individual searching for your site will still be sent to the correct website either way. 
    • For example, if we purchase stjohnpauliicatholicchurch.org then it won't matter if the letter 'i' is upper or lowercase when someone types to search for the site. Does that make sense?
  • Also, we suggest that the 'L' and 'i' in your domain be kept separate if possible because often people will get confused when trying to type in your website name.
    • For example, stjohnpaul2catholicchurch.org (and .com) is still available and we could purchase that so parishioners/visitors aren't confused by the 'L' in Paul being right next to the two i's (johnpaulii).  Does that make sense?
Please feel free to do what you feel is best, as these are just our suggestions based upon parishes we have worked with in the past. :)

I just wanted to clarify regarding our second suggestion: it may be more readable for parishioners if your domain name has a numerical (2) rather than a roman numeral (ii). Let me know if you would like us to explore this option. :)

I talked with Mary and she said the domain name should be just fine. :) Most people will bookmark it (only having to type it once) or search Google for the parish, so the chance of errors while typing is fairly slim. We think it is a good domain name, and we'll go ahead and work on getting that purchased for you!
