Email & Calendar

Hello Chris,

As we near the end of development, I was curious as to if the parish had come to a final decision to switch to Google email (Gmail) or not. We had noted in the consultation that this is something you were interested in.

This is particularly important due to the fact that your homepage has a spot specifically designed for the calendar. Right now, the easiest way to manager a calendar that is in sync with the website, is through Google.
Here are some other great things about using Google Calendars:
  • Other Google users may be assigned as editors, so it is not all on you
  • You can have multiple calendars, including private/personal calendars. (EX: Meetings, Faith Formation events, Parish events, Father's meetings, etc)
  • Reoccuring events are easily managed and only needed to enter once
  • Events will automatically appear on the homepage
  • Visitors to your website will be able to see that your parish is thriving and as lots of faith formation events , regardless of being a smaller parish and sharing events with St. Philip and St. Joseph

Having Google emails means also means that we would set up account that have the address "example@stjeromebc.org" for any users that you would like.

If you are interested in doing this, please let me know and we can continue with the next couple of steps.  If you are wanting to pass, we can discuss how we want to go about changing the calendar area of your homepage.

Thank you,
