White Lake Catholics

Pre-Design, Suggested Sitemap

Good morning Sherie,

Here is the current and pre-design, suggested sitemap for you to go over, update, and return to us:

Current Sitemap: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NazT-s_6JQK9knXP1J0iyV4yOxVwg9EmeQNbrqAClXw/edit?usp=sharing
Pre-Design, Suggested Sitemap: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uMkX186shXcf-gt1x2wFM6J35-rbgLwiRHeKi3xmG-w/edit?usp=sharing
Once the complete design is officially approved, we will be sending out a suggested sitemap along with our questions and annotated notes.
Here is a quick overview of the process from sitemap review to launch:

  1. Diocesan rearranges current sitemap to ensure logical page/information flow to create suggested sitemaps. Client (James, Assumption team) adds/removes any pages/content that Diocesan should/should not bring into the new website.
  2. Design officially approved. Any changes to the design after the approval may incur additional costs.
  3. Diocesan takes pre-design, suggested sitemap and creates an official suggested sitemap that includes any questions and annotated notes of which design mockup layout we would suggest for each page.
  4. Client is sent another live link to Google Document so they can go over the official suggested sitemap, answer questions in real time, and add/remove any more pages/content, as necessary.
  5. Diocesan moves content into the new website, using the official suggested sitemap as a guide of how to set up page flow and navigation menu, which page layout to use when migrating content, and to mark which pages have/have not been moved.
  6. Diocesan sends the client a link to the development site and schedules the first training session.
  7. First training session. Diocesan creates user accounts for the client so that they may begin accessing & editing the website.
  8. Second training session (questions + more training).
  9. Launch.

Let me know if you have any questions and/or when you've completed updating the suggested sitemap,

Good morning Sherie,

The developers are reaching the point that will soon allow us to begin migrating content over to your new website. In order to do so, we ask that you review the document linked below and make any necessary changes to what you would or would not like migrated over. The Google Doc is editable online, so feel free to begin going through it and add any pages, comments or questions that you might have.

Hello Veronica,
I believe that we are all set with the site map and ready to move forward!

Hello Veronica,
I did forget to ask if the icon of online giving, mass times, etc. that we had discussed earlier in the process were in the site map plan? Please let me know because we do want the icon buttons on the home page.

Thanks,
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Thank you for taking the time to go over the sitemap.
I have added the Homepage Layout as well so that you can fill out the missing fields for Diocesan to fill in.

As for the icons, I must have forgotten about these.  Where were you intending these icons to go?

Hi Veronica,
We like the set up of Holy Spirit Parish-Grand rapids (hsparish.org (http://hsparish.org)). We liked everything about the arrangement of that website. The buttons we want are - Mass Times, Calendar, Bulletins, Online Giving , & Homilies. We also liked the way the news and events is presented in their website.
FROM THE CLIENT Sherie Manzo, Office Manager at James, Assumption Staff - Montague, MI
Yes, looks good.
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Wonderful!

Now that we have the content structure worked out, we can begin the migration. Once the migration is completed, we will be sending you a link to the development site and schedule your first website training.

Let me know if you have any questions until then!

Good Morning Sherie,

I had a couple questions on the proposed sitemap as I was going through it, mostly about pages that I was unable to find on the current site and therefore wasn't sure what to carry over for the new site. The pages in question are:
  • Parish Documents under About Us
  • Christian Life under Ministries
  • Community Outreach under Ministries
  • Worship & Spiritual Life under Ministries
  • Parish Councils under Ministries
  • Affiliated Groups under Ministries
  • CSA under News & Events
Other than that, the link for you to review the site will be sent out shortly, possibly by the end of this week. For the Ministry pages, I figured that they would combine the current ministries under each page, but I wanted to find out which ones before I migrated them.

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Hello Cody,
Under Parish Documents - Best Practice can be put under that, it is currently under about us. we are also going to want to put registration forms and such under Parish Documents. Do we get those to you now or will we work through that later?
Do not worry about CSA for now, we can add that in as it comes about later.
The rest can be found under parish ministries in the "jeopardy board" screen😀 .
Christian Life - Funeral Ministry & Pastoral Care
Community Outreach - Habitat for Humanity, Monthly Miracle Drive, & White Lake Giving Tree
Worship & Spiritual Life - Altar Laundress, Altar Seamstress, Art & Environment, Building & Grounds, Document Ministry, Eucharistic Adoration, Liturgy, Music Ministry, & Quilting Ministry.
Affiliated Groups - Knights of Columbus #12985, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, & St. Jude's Circle.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or if these answers were not clear enough.

God bless!

Hello Sherie,

If you get those registration forms to me now, I can begin making them into online fillable forms, which is both convenient for you receiving them and convenient for those filling them out.

The rest of it looks clear enough for me to begin working on the ministries and the Parish Documents page, so thank you for getting back to me!

Thank you,

Cody Armock
