Server For Hosting Website

Good afternoon Tom,

I hope all has been well since we talked.  The last time we really talked was the Deep Dive conversation, so it has been a little while.

During the Deep Dive conversation when we discussed hosting the website, you had mentioned you would be looking into your own server/server company.  With the design being approved, we are ready to move forward into development.  Did you find a server option?  If so, we would need admin access for our developer in order for the development process to begin.

Good afternoon,

The hosting of the website would be an annual cost.  This is separate from the website project, as it would be billed annually.  The proposal that was sent to you was just the design, development, and content for your new website.

We have 3 Tiers of hosting for our school and parish multi site projects:

Tier 1: $360/yr Includes 5GB online storage and 20GB monthly bandwidth 
Tier 2: $480/yr Includes 10GB online storage and 30GB monthly bandwidth
Tier 3: $600/yr Includes 20GB online storage and 100GB monthly bandwidth

If you need to adjust up or down a tier within a year, just let us know.

I’m a little confused by your message – I’m not sure exactly what you are asking for – perhaps if I could speak with an engineer that will actually be doing the work I can make sure he/she has the proper authorizations.

Hi Rita,

We were able to find a little more information for you.

Your current website is hosted at DigitalOcean.  If you would like your new website to be stored at the same place we can do that.  This was from our developer:

"If they're going to keep that host then I will need access to their DigitalOcean profile(whoever was in charge of the site last would have this information). If WHM/cPanel or another control interface is installed on their account then I would need access to that as well. While logged in I can install Wordpress and the site that I've already built locally."

In an effort to find a good way to explain website hosting, I found a description online that I feel does a great job.  I hope this helps:

"When you set up a [new website], you have a series of files, images, and HTML code that make up your website. These files take up space and need a place to live. Without an online home, your files would just sit on your computer and no one would ever see them. A hosting provider will provide a place on a web server to store all of your files and are responsible for delivering the files of your website as soon as a browser makes a request by typing in your domain name."

We are hosting this new site with Bluehost. You should have received an email from Bluehost regarding login information.



It seems there is something being lost in the translation with the developer. May I contact him/her directly?
