My name is Samuel Lanning, I will be working with you on the design for your new website! I'm looking froward to getting started as soon as I get the chance. First I want to introduce you to basecamp, this is where I will be contacting you from (for you these will look like normal emails as well as provide you a link to basecamp at the bottom of each email.)

I am going to take some time today to look at your current site and do some research on what we are working with!

Dear Sam,
Thanks for the note. In my humble opinion our current site stinks! I am not sure if there is much we can salvage there.
I want to redesign the entire thing: text as well as layout. I have a basic template of what the fundamental areas will be and what capabilities will have to exist in the system. I can map these out and send you a copy if you like. (see attached)
There are 4 major areas and several minor concerns, like our mission, vision and staff and faculty.
Area 3 will be where we showcase all of the content we create for adult education and streamed events that we host and create. We can put that stuff on youtube, but we are going to want to be able to put stuff up weekly, and link each new video to our front page so folks will see what we have added each week.
I can write up text for each of the pages, stealing the tiny bit I want to save from the previous website if you like.
I was a part of the process for the Venice Diocese went through, where we cleaned up our site and you imported everything over. The Institute web site is so poorly designed I am wondering if that is worth our time.

The Bishop decided to keep our old name, though I want to give it a new logo. What I am doing is Emphasizing the Institute for catholic Studies, and the adding under it in small letters “and formation”.
