here is a version of the log with a dark background and light background.

Hi Sam:
Thanks for these. I like the design, but was wondering if you could do some alternatives with a different color—both dark background and/or light background? I was thinking that since we have a Marian title as our patroness, perhaps something in shades of blue that would be bright, bold and show well?

Just some thought…but overall, I like this first concept. I want to show them around a bit before moving forward.

Let me know if some other color combo might work…

Have a good weekend,
Fr. Ben

Good Morning,

I hope you all had a great Holiday. I am reaching out to you today to see if you we're able to see the last set of logo I had sent on June 29th. If you need the file again I am going to Include it with this email as well. I hope you find the time to look at them and let me know if any of the colors schemes are working with you.

Thanks,

Samuel Lanning

Hello Sam:

I have been away, so I apologize for the short delay in responding.

Thanks for these efforts. Several are appealing for different reasons, but I believe the “original one” is the best (i.e., the one with the “tan” sand). I think we can go with this one. However, when coupled with the sample you provided previously with the name of the church listed below the logo, I’d like to see what it will look like with blue lettering (rather than black) for the church name (again, picking up on our Marian parish title). You had also provided a “black box” with white lettering and the logo, but I think the white background is less harsh-looking.

So, good on the logo, but let’s see it paired with blue lettering of the church name (perhaps the blue used for the sand & waves in the final logo listed in your samples).

Best wishes this Monday,
Fr. Ben

Here is the homepage so far!
Keep in mind the images and most of the text is simply filler at this point. We will change them when we move to development.

The heading image of Jesus would be a slider so you could present multiple images of the outside of the church, mass, and any other events you would like (3-5 images)

Thanks,

Sam:
After showing the logos around, I’d like to see the 3rd option here (top to bottom), keeping everything as is…with the exception of changing the “sand” portion to brown as found in the first and second options.

As for the homepage draft, it’s a little hard to envision it in its present format/size, but we get the general idea. Generally looks OK to proceed with, but was wondering about the size of the church name/banner head. It this viewable format, it looks far too small. Perhaps that is due to the way we are looking at it now. Seems like that should be larger, much more prominent. Also the current color of the two “boxes” is not appealing. Perhaps drawing colors from the logo, or perhaps warmer, brighter colors as background fill would make it more appealing for us??

Just some on-going thoughts…

Best,
Fr. Ben

Good Afternoon!

I have a different link for you to see that may represent this page better (Should fit the screen to show you how it would look as a webpage rather than having any background nonsense or interference from basecamp.)

https://diocesan.prevue.it/view/7p0cfa

I updated the logo colors to have the sand color again as well. Take a look at full size and let me know how it looks. It will be different looking at it closer to what the size actually will be!

Samuel Lanning

And as far as colors go, I will switch them out, but they're all from the same set of colors used in the logo! Tried to balance out light and dark to create a decent hierarchy as the page moves down the screen. Creating emphasis on the news and images used there by using lighter colored text on the dark background! I will have another update to the proof for you soon!

Oh yeah…now this is a much better view of the concept.

Also, thanks for explaining the color gradation on the page. Makes sense. One of the things I got hung up on, in looking at the page, is the temporary picture across the top. I know it has nothing to do with the actual homepage, but it was hard for me not to keep disliking it—not my style! 😊

Overall though, we’re ready for next steps then. I do like the re-colored logo, so we can make that a “keeper”!

Sounds good! I will swap out the picture for something different for the time being, Glad the other link helps you visualize the concept better!

I will have some more pages later this week for you to view as well! Look forward to a Contact, Inner Page(general text with image and w/o images), Ministries, and A few more to showcase some of the varying pages used for the final site!

I uploaded a copy with the current welcome image from your site.

Still working on a way for the text to be easily visible on the image so that when adding different images it wont affect the text or making the need to change its color all the time necessary.
