Project Recap
Amy,
I see that you approved Sam's design. I just wanted to take a moment to bring you up to speed where we stood on the project from an hour and financial perspective. Initially we had quoted a price of $9,100 (130 hours x $70hr) for website creation. We arrived at that price by breaking the web project down as follows:

Initially we had quoted a price of $9,100 (130 hours x $70hr) for website creation. We arrived at that price by breaking the web project down as follows:
- 30 hours for design
- 60 hours for the build process
- 40 hours for content migration (bringing your content over from the existing site and creation of new content)
Currently we've logged 39 hours for the design process. Which puts us over budget for the design process. Hopefully we'll be able to make up some of this time during the development process. Veronica is our content expert and will be helping to ensure that the content from your old site is moved over to the new one.
The next phase is turning the project over to one of our developers. At this time a developer hasn't been assigned to your project, but will be shortly. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on my staff.
?Gary,
Thank you for touching base on this, Sam did mention as well.
Can you continue to keep me posted through the development?
As well as let me know if there is anything I need to do in order to minimize us going over this allotted budget.
Thanks,
Amy Lesko

Amy,
That's not a problem, I can keep you posted on the accumulated hours for the project. The many changes during the design stage are what led to the overage. Hopefully, during the build stage, everything goes as planned. We do try to add in a few hours in each stage as a buffer, so we'll hope that we don't need to use the buffer hours in the build and content migration pieces.
