Development Link & Training
Good morning Everyone,
We have reached the point in development at which we share a link to the development site with you.
Training Sessions
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via a screen share program. We will send over the meeting link and phone number in a later email.
During the training sessions, we go over:
- How to edit the homepage content
- How to edit the footer
- How to edit the menu
- How to create/edit inner pages
- How to create/edit posts
- How to create/edit image galleries
- How to create/edit online forms
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:
Session 1: Editing the site basics
Session 2: Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once.
Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
There are some other big items that we are still working on, such as:

Question – when I go to my sites, Holy Rosary Church, visit site and click on edit page so I can change the cover picture, I click on edit in the picture and it brings up the URL for the picture but it does not allow me to change it, Is there a reason why I can’t? I should have full admin. Access.

Carlos, to your point, I completely forgot to make the to-do for the developer for him to move those Sticky Buttons on the homepage. My apologies. Those should be fixed now if you do a hard-refresh (Instructions here). I had it fixed on both the school and the church and had the slider dots moved to the left since it was blocking those now.
As for how to change out the images in the slider, you need to hover over the image and click the 'X' icon rather than the Edit Pencil. Then you can click the Add Image button to choose a new image.

I think that tomorrow as a launch date is a little soon, especially since we do not have the domain information for both the school and church holyrosarycs.org and holyrosarycc.org. The earliest we could launch right now is a week from Thursday, December 2nd because of holidays and also to give us time to make sure that everything is ready for launch and to go through it one more time to make sure all is right.

I have been working on the parish website adding some items and doing some updates, on the main page where there is the home, about us, sacrament’s, ETC, I added “Catholic Organizations” under the drop down menu from there it should say Catholic Daughters of the Americas, but the wording goes right rather than left, could we get that updated to go left instead of right please.

Hello Carlos,
So, I was able to make the sub-menu go left instead of right through the mega-menu feature and settings, so that should be good to go. For the page itself, the problem is that the picture is incredibly small 38px X 40px. The space it is trying to fill on a desktop is 1903x325 ish, so that is stretching it roughly 50 times, which is a lot. So, I was able to make the sub-menu go left instead of right through the mega-menu feature and settings, so that should be good to go. For the page itself, the problem is that the picture is incredibly small 38px X 40px. The space it is trying to fill on a desktop is 1903x325 ish, so that is stretching it roughly 50 times, which is a lot. If you go to our current school website, that is exactly what is shown on the parish webpage when I click school, I do not see the current page that is being worked on, and same the other way, on the school side when you click on parish link, you see our current website not page that is being worked on. I would have presumed that since we are admins that we would be able to see the school site as it is being done and school could see the parish side.
While I could understand that this may be the case since, we haven’t officially gone live, it does raise a little bit of concern that they link will work properly when the time comes

This was done deliberately so that they would link directly to the church on the school site and the school on the church site when they are launched and at the proper domains when both sites are launched. If you would like to change these links you can do so in the Theme Settings under the Header Links tab. (Screenshot below)
I did this so that we didn't miss changing these links when it comes time to launch the sites and so they are not pointing to the development sites.

What kind of format are you trying to upload it in? To show it the way you want, it needs to be in an image format of some kind, a JPG, PNG, etc. and then use the image block to display it. You could link to the PDF link if you'd like to, but that won't display it as an image unless you use the File block.

If you wanted to have Kelsey initiate the transfer to us next Monday, then we should be able to launch the school website by the end of next week. The church site won't be able to be launched until we know the login information for it.
The other way we could do it is to have Kelsey switch the DNS records for the school site and get that launched next Monday and initiate the domain transfer after that. So we would have the domain access going forward from that. However, the same issue is still there and that is the Church's domain. So, if you wanted to launch them together then it might still be advantageous to have Kelsey/Arvig keep the domain for now and we can send her the instructions for changing the School's domain when we find out the Church's or we could have Kelsey launch the school site on Monday.
Just let me know how you would proceed or if you have any questions!

For the testimonials, that is through the Testimonials Item on the left menu when looking at the dashboard and then it is just filling it out with the Person's Name, Person's Title i.e. Parent, Testimonial Text, and then putting it in the right category, e.g. Parrents, Staff, etc.

I think I fixed everything. The alignment was changed because of the Mega Menu alignment was not set to Mega Menu - Grid Layout. I switched it back to that and it now works as before.

I think I fixed everything. The alignment was changed because of the Mega Menu alignment was not set to Mega Menu - Grid Layout. I switched it back to that and it now works as before.
#1 I somehow altered the format under: Current Families. I would like separate pages for "The Cardinals Nest" and our "Student Handbook."
What are "The Cardinals Nest" and "Student Handbook" going to be? Pages or Custom Links to the Documents can be added to the menu and dragged under the "Parent Resources" item like "Powerschool and "FACTS" are
#2/#3 Under Contact us : The staff directory is still not linking back to the staff directory we have under "About Us" (should we just delete that as an option?)
This was a problem because of the domain changes through the site launch. I have fixed the custom link for it to go to the right page.
And the Contact us button is not prompting anything to happen. Our principal said she got an "error" message on her phone when she tried to use the contact us button.

Hi Cody,
On the Parish side, there are a couple of minor issues
1. The Staff button does not link, just comes up as error
2. On the ask, join, news tabs, the news one does not link to news stories
3. When visiting the website, the school link does not work, it just keeps loading the landing page, and the school link on the parish side, does not link to the school side.

Sorry about that! That also seemed like it was a launch issue with how the domains were set to go to the landing page, but those should be fixed now. If there is anything that I miss please tell me where I can find those links or issues in detail i.e. top right of the homepage or bottom of this page (Link here), etc.

When I go to google and click on visit Holy Rosary webpage it loads the landing page as it should. But the school side “Enter Site” is not working, It just keeps loading the landing page.

I took a look at that page and made sure that the link was updated to go to the homepage and it seems to do just that. I inputted the link again and updated the landing page. If it still doesn't work, you might need to clear your cache or hard refresh too.

Hello Carlos,
You can adjust the publish date of the posts to have them show in a different order. Easiest way to do it is to use the Quick Edit in the Posts area and change it there. That is how you reorder them. You can also do it in the post itself by clicking on the Date and Time next to "Publish".

I have made a brief video detailing how to do this, so that you can see it whenever you have a menu item you need to add. This is for a Custom Link, but you could do the same process and add a page to the menu basically the same way. Here is the link to the video.
