Then, we needed to change the Daily Readings image to match the homepage by using code to replace the image its featured image. In replacing this image, we ran into the issue in which now only the Daily Readings image did not resize the same way as the rest.
Since we are manually overwriting the featured image for the Daily Reading (bible photo for day of the week), we do not have the same options for Daily Readings (featured image posts dictated by the plugin). For this reason, we resized all posts to match the Daily Readings image.
Alternatively, we can change the mobile version of the homepage's Upcoming Events to be the shorter images, while the 3 Daily's on mobile are the taller images. This way, on mobile, all Upcoming events are shorter, as you need them to be, and the 2 Daily's are all the same taller image.
We did look into the Saint of the Day and it seems as though it is pulling in the saint of the day around 1:00 am ET, which is still the day before for you, which is why the date is off. What is strange is that it only recently started displaying the incorrect date for you, so we are looking into it and seeing if we can set the pull time to be in your timezone.
As for the myParish App link and phone number links, we'll get those items done first thing tomorrow morning!
Something has happened with the ratios of my photos. Can this be reverted back to the way it was on December 25th please? I could see the whole photo before, or at least more of it, but now they are cut off. Here are a couple of examples. It's very apparent on anything with words. These screen shots are from mobile, but I can see it on desktop too.
Could you look into the date on the saint of the day please? It has been one day behind for the last four days. Other than that small thing all three feeds are functioning well. 😊
Thank you again for working on your day off to reestablish our email domain and finish our launch! I really appreciate you!
When you are back, could you look into these please? The app link should go here: https://stgg.org/myparish-app/ and the email is not formatted correctly - it thinks it is a phone number.
Happy New Year!

Hi,
Ok, let’s leave it as-is then. Everything looks pretty uniform in size currently, so I’ll just adjust the photos that I upload going forward.
How strange on the date. Thank you for looking into it.

Hi Nichol,
We will leave the homepage mobile posts as they are.
For the posts, we've deleted and re-pulled the post at ~5:00 am, your time, so that the Saint of the Day posts should come through at that time and show the correct date moving forward.
We'll keep an eye on it and ask that you do so as well, please!
Great, thank you. The footer is only partially updated. The app link is still broken. Do you mind looking at it again please? I just cleared my cache so I don’t think that’s the problem?
Redirects can be tricky, but I suppose as long as you're keeping track of them, I don't see an issue with it. I, personally, believe that the best course of action would be to simply remove the parent page (so the URL goes back to just .org/adoration) and replace any old links. I say this because although SEO can be helpful, it seems that the simple URLs may be more beneficial to you.
On the matter of replacing "dead" links, you are able to go through all of the broken links (Tools > Broken Links in the dashboard menu) and select "Edit URL" to replace them on all pages that would have the "dead" link. Also, looking at that list, there are a couple of pages that must have had the images copied and pasted (not downloaded and uploaded) to the pages and since the original file location is no longer there, the images are not displaying. As for the YouTube videos on that list, it is usually just that the person that uploaded them has them as private or simply not a monetized account. I'm not sure why that makes a difference, but you are able to hover over the link and select "Not Broken".
I was thinking about short URL's to be used in publications and wanted to run something by you. I created this page: https://stgg.org/adoration/ and then did a 301 redirect to the real page: https://stgg.org/ministries/liturgy/adoration/ . I've been experimenting with it, and it looks like this could work. Is there any reason that you can think of that this would be frowned upon? The long URL's look bad in our bulletin for people that have a paper copy and it's a lot to type in accurately.
I looked into Bitly, but I'm not excited about having another site to work on, plus it will get expensive. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I’m still trying to decide if it’s worth the trouble. It will make my backend page list so cluttered! I’m not surprised that I have so many broken links. I am still working through the ministry pages, as they were on the ‘not frequently visited’ backburner list of things to do. I’m making headway and hopefully no one will notice before I get to them.
The website is looking awesome, thank you!

I'm glad you're liking the website! Looking at the broken links, there truly aren't very many, especially since most of the YouTube links DO work and can be marked as Not Broken. You've done a wonderful job of updating a hefty site after over a year of initially being migrated, truly. Don't be so hard on yourself :)
Also, for the footer form entries, it seems as though the website is working properly since we can see that the email was passed successfully to the email server (so it sent out). You said you did not receive the first one, but you received the second one? If that is the case, I wonder if the email issues slowly started the first night of launch and only allowed some of the emails from our website to come through.
I was looking over the entries for the footer form. I never received this one, although she sent it again and that I did receive. Do you know what happened?
Ohhhh, I bet that is what happened. I never did get your email the afternoon of the launch, so I think anything that was sent during that period was just lost. Hopefully, it is all good now.
Thank you for your kind words! I feel really good about everything and it will get easier and quicker as I continue. I’m still kind of bumbling along but can usually figure it out. You’re always very kind to help when I get stuck, thank you!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Hi Nichol,
I'm going to have the developer take another stab at the Saint of the Day. I thought we had figured it out so there must be something else going on. He'll be looking at it tomorrow.,
Also, I'm going to re-send that launch email so you have all the information you should have gotten :)
Any news on the date for saint of the day? It’s still showing yesterday’s date everyday. Is it possible to have the date not be part of the feed at all and just have a little independent code for today’s date?
Thank you, Nichol

Good morning Nichol,
The developer was able to change some things for testing last night but still had the same issue this morning. It's the last resort, but this morning we have used Javascript to change the date.
We're going to check it again tomorrow morning to ensure it is working properly.
We are unable to recreate the featured image sizing issue. Could you please clear your cache and let us know if the issue persists? Here is what I am seeing:
Fonts Your manual HTML styling will overwrite any default styling, so we don't see any issues with that. We only ask that you be careful and make sure to "close your tags" so you are not leaving an open code statement.

Font Not Showing Something to keep in mind is that the font will only display if the device has that font downloaded/available. Here is a list of fonts that are available on iOS devices: http://iosfonts.com/ We could not find a list for Android devices, but most Google Fonts will work.
What was the verdict on the font question below? Was the change you proposed going to undo my work?
I’ve been experimenting with fonts and came up with a possible partial solution. I tinkered with the code on this page: https://stgg.org/font-practice-page/ and was able to produce a script font (see Brush Script). It only seems to work on desktop whereas mobile reverts to a simple font. Then I was experimenting with all the other fonts and see that they all revert to a simple font on mobile too. Is this how it’s supposed to work? And will I be breaking anything by tweaking the code?
Please advise, thank you.

Hi,
That worked, thank you. It’s not a big deal, but I also saw that the photo from the daily readings is missing. Hopefully, it will be back tomorrow. Dates still look good! Hurray!
Since the Daily Readings images are determined by the Daily Readings Images you select when editing the homepage, please add the image there for it to appear across the website:
The estimated time for this would be 0.5 hours ($35 at $70/hr rate) to move the link down below, transform the styling to be a button that matches your footer button styling (rounded). Would you prefer the button to be red or gold?
I would like to adjust this link. It’s annoying to have to scroll back up to see more events and I think most people will miss it altogether. Is it possible to move it to the bottom so that you see it when you’ve already scrolled past the first six? Maybe then it could say “Load More” (or something else if you think there’s something more appropriate). Would that look weird or not stand out enough from the “more” under the last event? Then when it links to the next page, can you add an anchor to the 7th event so they don’t have to scroll past all the events they’ve already seen?
What are your thoughts to make this better?
Thank you, Nichol

Thanks for letting us know!
