Domain

Hello Nichol,

On our end, we do NOT have a request to transfer the domains to Diocesan in our original project quote. However, if you would like to transfer the domains to Diocesan, we can most certainly do so. The cost is $15 per year, per domain. The cost is billed annually, with hosting and covers the automatic, annual domain renewal.

Please note that a domain transfer is not typically required to launch your new website.
In order to launch the site, we will only need access to your domain's DNS settings. However, some companies require a bundle of both hosting and domain. If this is the case, you will want to transfer the domain.

If you would like us to begin this domain transfer process and authorize the additional cost of $30/yr to your project, please just let me know.

Hi Veronica,

I received this from Elexio regarding the domain names. Are we all set with the switch on your end? I don't remember what was done previously on this. If you need the EPP Key or anything else, please let me know.

Thank you, Nichol

Domain Name
The following domains are listed as being under Elexio's care, the password for the domain is listed just below it that you may access it located at http://dns.elexio.com<http://dns.elexio.com/> and be able to re-configure the domain as well as other data associated with it.

Domain name: saintgregorythegreat.org
Password: SGTG154964

Domain name: stgg.org
Password: SGTG154964

A separate email should arrive at slower@stgg.org<mailto:slower@stgg.org> providing the EPP Key (or Transfer Initiation code) for the domain listed above, that your new domain provider will need in order to initiate the transfer of your domain out of Elexio's care; once initiated, an approval email will be sent to the Registrant or Administrative Contact Email address set up in the your Domain Access area. If this email request is not responded to then the transfer request will fail. (Please note that domain contact information is available for public access). If you have not received the EPP Key for the domain listed above within 24 hours of receiving this email then log into the Domain Access area for the domain, make sure the Registrant & Administrative Contact Email addresses are current (if not, then update), then open a support request listing the domain and ask that the EPP Key be resent. You will need to make sure to complete the domain transfer process before your domains would otherwise expire on 4/4/2021 & 10/1/2021

If you would like our assistance in transferring your domain name, enter a Support Request. If you would like to schedule the transfer for a time other than our normal schedule described above, enter a unique Support Request describing what you want.

Hi Nichol,

As we just discussed on the phone, we will have saintgregorythegreat.org domain forward to stgg.org.
Also, you have approved the domain transfer for both domains to Diocesan for a total of $30, billed annually ($15 per year, per domain). I will consult with our support specialist that handles the domain transfers and see if she has a preference in transferring the domain before or after the launch (end of December).

Thank you!

Thank you, do you have everything you need? They mentioned something about an EPP code. Do you need this?
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Hello, Nichol -
When we are ready to transfer the domains, we'll need an EPP code for each domain.

We can transfer them anytime you'd like.  Occasionally, if we transfer them before a new site launch, there is the potential to have some of the host records drop during the transfer, basically they just don't transfer with the domain, and we have to add them back if we notice anything strange - like, your mail may stop working, just one potential issue we've had occur with domain transfers.  If you'd like to start the transfer process, I'll just need an EPP code for each - and I can keep an eye on your host records to make sure everything transfers correctly.  During the process (usually 5-7 days at most) if you were to notice something odd, such as you stop receiving new emails, you'd just need to let us know.

If you would like to start the transfer process now, I'm happy to get it underway - you can email the EPP codes to webdepartment@diocesan.com whenever you receive them.  They are usually time-sensitive so we have to use them within a few days of you receiving them.

If you have any questions about the process, just let me know!

Thank you,

Mary

Hi Mary,

Thank you for your email. I am including Sam Craven on this email, as he’s our IT person who knows all about this and can help coordinate the timing. I did request the EPP codes from Elexio this morning ironically, as they were supposed to send a few weeks ago and never did. I’ll send them to you upon receipt.

Thank you again and I hope you have a nice weekend!

In Christ,

Good morning-
Did you forward the codes over to webdepartment@diocesan.com?
I haven't received them if you did.

Thank you,

Mary

Yes, I sent last night.
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Nichol,
I'm so sorry, I'm not finding the email with the EPP codes in it anywhere in our inbox for our webdepartment email.  I've searched all the folders and I'm not finding anything recent from you.

Would you be able to try forwarding them to my regular email?  It looks like it's getting lost somewhere along the way!

If you could try  mgoeldel@diocesan.com - maybe that will work.  So sorry for the inconvenience!

I sent them a second time right after I responded to you. I’m at lunch right now, but can send again later.
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
OK, yes, please if you could - try my mgoeldel@diocesan.com.
For whatever reason, they aren't making it to the inbox of the webdepartment@diocesan.com email account.

You can also paste them into a basecamp message - I'd just need to know which code goes with which domain.

Thanks so much!

I just sent it five minutes ago to your direct email address.
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
That one I got!  Thinking maybe the attachments were causing problems with the webdepartment email, so sorry for the trouble!

So I have saintgregorythegreat.org code and can start that transfer.

I see the contact info was updated - occasionally there's a waiting period after an update before you're allowed to transfer a domain - I'll give it a try and we'll see what happens.

Thank you,

Mary

Good morning, Nichol -

The domain saintgregorythegreat.org has transferred successfully and still appears to be redirecting to stgg.org without issue, so I think we can call that a successful transfer!

There should be a second EPP code for the second domain, stgg.org - let me know if you have that code and if so, if you could send it to mgoeldel@diocesan.com, I can work on transferring that, at your convenience.

Thank you so much for your help with this!

Good morning, Nichol -
I just wanted to check in on the domain transfers.

We successfully transferred saintgregorythegreat.org to our eNom account.

I'm hoping there will be a second EPP/transfer code coming for the stgg.org account?

Thank you,

Mary

Ok, thank you. I thought you had everything you needed already. Can you tell me more about what I need to ask for?
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Good morning -
I believe I only received the one EPP/Transfer code from you and that was for saintgregorythegreat.org.

There will be a similar code for the second domain, stgg.org.

It looks like it's held by eNom as the registrar and eNom usually emails you with the code within a few minutes of requesting - you can just forward that email to webdepartment@diocesan.com.  In eNom, the option to retrieve an EPP Key is found under "General Settings", and I can send some screenshots if that's helpful.

Thank you so much!

Ok, I will ask again. Can you think of anything else you might need? We are three weeks away so I’m getting nervous.
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
Oh, nothing to worry about, no reason to be nervous!  We have plenty of time to complete this before your launch.

And once we transfer the domain, the launch will be much easier on your end of things, as we'll be able to access the domain and change the host records on launch day.  It takes that load off your shoulders on launch day!

We have lots of time to get this done - and the first domain is already transferred so this is the last step.  Your new site is going to be wonderful!

Thanks very much,

Mary
Nichol Swift, Saint Gregory the Great Staff
Ok, that sounds good, thank you. Could you elaborate on what load I might have on my shoulders please? I wasn’t aware that I had to do anything. I thought I would wake up on January 1 and it would magically appear.

Thank you, Nichol
Mary Goeldel, Diocesan
That's what I mean - once we have the domain in our account, we will do the work of launching.  You won't have to do anything as long as the domain gets transferred before launch day.  I was attempting to set your mind at ease - we do the work of launching, and it's helpful to have the domain where we can easily access it, in our account.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear on that - but it's best to get it transferred now, rather than wait too much longer, so if I can be of help in retrieving the EPP code for the remaining domain (stgg.org) please let me know.

Thank you!
