Good afternoon Fr. Sullivan, Mike, and Bryan,
I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Alan!
My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.
This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.
Below are links to Google documents of your current and proposed sitemap. The current sitemap shows your current site's menu structure and flow. The proposed sitemap is what we suggest for your menu based on our previous experience and what would work best in terms of usability. The proposed sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site.
You can edit the proposed sitemap however you would like, adding pages, removing pages, etc. The proposed sitemap will act as a guide for the content migration process. Please edit the document directly to ensure that the same edits stay throughout all versions and that the content migration process is accurate.

I am confused by the list you sent me. Is that in addition to the proposed sitemap or instead of the proposed sitemap? Either way, website best practices say that there should not be more than 8 main menu items and you currently have nine. Also, the titles that are in that list you emailed are much too long for a website. It is best to keep the menu items to one word and maybe two if you must, but every word you add would be like adding another menu item, so keep that in mind too.

I have added a section in the Proposed Sitemap for the Homepage buttons like the "I'm New", "Covid-19 Updates", "Stay Connected", and "Join A Group" buttons on this site, which the design of your site: http://robert.diocesanweb.org/. You can add those buttons in there, but they should probably be in the Menu structure/Full Menu part of the Proposed Sitemap too.
If we need to have a longer meeting about this, where we go through it in more detail, just let me know and we can schedule that!

Good Morning Everyone,
I just wanted to touch base with you and see if there is anything that we can do to keep the project moving with the sitemaps and make sure that all of your questions are answered. I know that Fr. Sullivan wanted to set up a meeting a while back to go through some questions about the sitemap. Like the Homepage buttons and possibly add them to the Menu as well, which is what I would recommend in case anyone would want to get those pages and are not on the homepage. I wanted to see if a meeting was still necessary and if so, then set that up.

I was out of the office yesterday, but I added your revisions to the Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lga4_LjF1XAcYkLj8Pl72VI8I5hUvcNfp3f_FuSkTeY/edit). Please make edits there so there is only one version there, otherwise, it can be confusing when it comes time for content migration.
I also added a comment on there that we could combine most of the items under Pray/Sacraments into one page called Mass Times & Confessions, so if you want to make that change, please do.
