Hello Krista and Gretchen,

For your site, you have a spot on the homepage for a calendar. I was wondering what kind of calendar you are using right now. The site will work best with a Google Calendar, but there are ways, albeit non-preferred ones, to import other calendars into a Google Calendar so that it will work on the site.

Thank you and have a great weekend,

Cody Armock

We have created a google acct and have a claendar. I have been trying like crazy to export our current outlook calendar to the new google calendar and I am just not smart enough! Any help you can provide? If not, I will have to repopulate.

Hello Krista and Gretchen,

Before exporting, make as many edits to the Outlook Calendar as you can or the copy of it. I am not sure if I shared this already, but this article and clicking on the "Export from another calendar application" in the Step 1 section.

I hope this all makes sense.
  1. Make a copy of the Outlook Calendar that you want on the website.
  2. Make the necessary changes to the Copy of the Calendar, deleting events, etc.
  3. Go to File > Open&Export > Export to CSV
    1. Select the Date Range you want (the bigger the range, the bigger the file and the longer it will take to create)
  4. Once you export the file, open the Google Calendar
  5. Click the Gear Icon in the Upper Right Hand Corner and Click Settings.
  6. On the Left Sidebar, Click Import & Export
  7. Upload the CSV file from your computer and add it to the appropriate Calendar.
    1. *This will not overwrite the events that were previously on there, to my knowledge*
  8. Click Import.
  9. While in Settings, in the left sidebar, click Integrate Calendar. Then send me the Calendar ID.
  10. You will also need to make the Calendar Public if it is not already, you can find how to do that here
Let me know if you have any questions!

Unfortunately, that is not the link I need. You can send me any one of the following parts from the image below, Calendar ID would be the easiest though.

Thank you for making edits to the sitemap. We will begin the Content Migration Process soon.

Hello Gretchen,

By content changes, do you mean changes to the current site's content? If so, I will let you know before I begin start migrating the content and whatever is on the site at that moment is what will be the content for the new site. You will be able to make changes to the new site's content before we launch, so anything that still needs to be changed, can be changed.

I hope that answers your question!

Yes, I intend to change what is on the current but will also have some new content that needs to be created for new pages...

Good Morning Krista and Gretchen,

We are beginning the content migration. If you have the suggested sitemap document open: Proposed Sitemap then you can see what pages have been moved by the ones that are crossed out.

I just wanted to give you a heads up as we talked about you updating content on your current site. This way, you only have to change it once.

Hi Cody…working on content on my end that currently exists on our current site. For additional pages or content that is brand new should I just send as a word document from now on and you can upload to new site? The reason I ask is that creating new pages in our current site is a bit cumbersome….thoughts? Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,

For the pages that are brand new, you can just send those as word documents. You can upload those documents here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MOnifRx6HVFoX7bHs-i-n3DCEhpss7SC?usp=sharing

That way I can check it and make sure to create those pages on the new site.

Hello: Hope you had a nice holiday. Just checking in. I have uploaded some items to the google docs, not sure what you have seen lately. I also will be sending over via google docs forms that we want to be translated into online forms. Will be getting you information about Faith Formation pages this week as well.

We are also working on an online payment option called Vanco through PDS. They are asking some questions about our hosting for our website, currently we are still using the Epic Platform...Krista in our office will be forwarding to you their questions. If you can help us that would great!

Thanks!

I think, think, we have recovered from the holidays! I am circling back to see where we are in the process for the website. The last I know I had downloaded more documents to our google docs files. Some new content especially in regard to faith formation.

Can you give us an update as to where we are?
Thanks.

I am glad you have recovered from the holidays. I will look in that folder and be making those forms within the next day or so. Once I am done with that, I can see if we are ready to send out the development link for you all to take a look at and we can start scheduling the first training.

Hello Gretchen,

So, the new content has been added to the website. However, the website is not ready in terms of looking like the design. The developer will need some more time to fix a few of the major design issues before we send out the link and be ready for training on the site.

We want your first look at the website to be full of hope of what it could be, not to be tainted with issues of this or that part not looking right. I will keep you posted as to the development of the website.

Hello Gretchen,

Unfortunately, the site is still not ready. I am so sorry, but last week and this week were interrupted by "Update Day"—going through all the sites and making necessary security and functionality updates—so the developers and I were busy doing that.

However, we have a Design/Development Review Meeting on Monday where we will go in-depth through the site with the Designer and Developer and make sure any issues are noted and fixed. After that, the developer will begin fixing the issues and once he is done with that, we will send the development link for you to review and schedule trainings by next Friday.

Again, I am so sorry for the delay!

Thank you,

Cody Armock
FROM THE CLIENT Gretchen, George Church - Erie, PA Staff
Ok thanks Cody.

We have had some personnel changes and I want to make sure those are reflected on the site but we can address that when we get closed to launch.

I will let folks know. We would really like to have it up and ready by lent?

Hello Gretchen,

I believe we can have the site launched by February 26th, Ash Wednesday. To have things go as smoothly as possible, did you want to set up the training meetings now? The trainings will be about two hours long and we like to have them about a week apart to give you time to edit the site and come across any issues that we can discuss at the second training.

So, since the link will be sent out next Friday, February 7th, the first training would be sometime the week of the 10th, of which I am available Monday, 2/10 - Thursday 2/13 anytime between (9:30 AM - 4PM).

The second training would be about a week from then, so sometime in the week of 2/17, same availability as above, Monday 2/17 - Thursday 2/20.

Veronica will be sending out more information about the training sessions and what we will cover in the trainings, when she sends out the link next week, but I figured, this way I can be more available and get things set now for you too.

Let me know what days and times you want to do the first and second training!

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Veronica, when you schedule the training, we are looking at a February 24 or 25 launch. Schedule trainings ASAP and within a week of each other.

Hi Cody: Before you all make things live I have discovered today a couple of things.

1. I can not edit the staff page which is a problem because we have to make sure our former staff are off.
2. I can not edit the Give page at all? This is a problem because we have mis-information.
3. The buttons on the Faith Formation page are not translating well to the live preview. They are small bundled boxes not buttons they appear to be in the edit version.
Thanks. We will work out the kinks. I owe you a couple of forms too.

Good Morning Gretchen,

I will start with your questions and work my way down:

1. The Staff Page is editable through the Staff Members module in the Wordpress menu on the left side when in the backend. It is right above the Envira Gallery Plugin, so you can "trash" old staff members there to remove them.

2. I am not sure what Give page you are referring to that you cannot edit. The give page can be edited by going to All Pages and going to the "How Can I Give" page under the "Give" Parent Page. Let me know if you still can't edit it.

3. As for the Buttons on the Faith Formation page, those are what the button blocks render out as, as per the styles page. I replace those with the image buttons and am having them styled out better for that page.

4. There is a system in place that prevents people from logging into the site between the hours of 1 am and 6 am, to help prevent spam and hackers from accessing the site. I can change those times if you would like, but I have pushed the launch back to 10 am EST, so you should have some time to edit those things you need to.

Let me know if you need any more clarification or have any additional questions!
