I spoke to Fr. Dale about the logo you created. He likes it. He’d like to take the “diamond” center piece off the logo, though. If you want to possibly suggest a replacement, that’s fine, or leave blank. Would we have the copyrights to the logo?

I’m sending our stationery logo and lettering. We’d like to see if you would want to incorporate this to our website, or use the “church” box for the logo creation…

Danae,

I met with our pastor this morning regarding the logo and want to pass along his thoughts. He’d like to stay with the original logo that was on the website you created and omit the graphic in the middle of the “F”. We like it. For the various uses we foresee for the logo, can you also design it with the “S” and “X” in blue? If we wanted to print the logo on a white background, we’d be able to keep the “F” gold, but change the colors of the other two letters to blue. (I thought of the Coca-Cola logo and how they interchange from white letters to red, but keep the calligraphy the same. Similarly, we’d like the ability to do that, too.)

On the website, we’d like to see what it would look like to use the calligraphy letters from our stationery (as below). However, we’d like “St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church” across the top line and “Mount Washington, Kentucky” on the bottom line. The city and state would be in the font as below (non-calligraphy).

Hi Helen and Ed,

Here are some options I made this morning. I try to give at least two variations per style. Also, I changed the blue back to the original blue because it sounded like we prefer the royal blue over the aquamarine blue. Let me know if you want to see more!

Once we choose a final logo I will plan on inverting it to be a clear background and blue and gold font inside the icon.

Some notes about the different variations:
1 & 2: If we wanted Catholic in the name we would need to choose the font- just because we don't have catholic in the hand made font

3- I incorporated the cross and and the f as a cross

4 & 5 both have the bigger F and the calligraphy is all on one line. I'm not sure how it will look on the website because it is so long... but it looks nice on this file.

6-9 Those look off balanced to me. But here is the F the same size as the other letters in SFX. With and without the church icon in the middle.

8 & 9- to give you an idea of what it would look like on two lines.

Good morning Danae,

We love #3! Let’s go with that. If you could have it on our website for Tuesday’s conference call/meeting, that would be great! Also, please send us the logo with reverse colors.

I’ve attached our stationery also. I wanted you to see the bottom line on the page. We want to incorporate that on our website, too. I’m trying to get that in a file to send you.

Lastly, I’ve attached a page from a magazine that I thought I’d share. It has colors that make me think of our website. We have an awning on our campus that is a lighter blue and made me think that perhaps we want to incorporate a little of that on our website, along with the darker blue and gold that you already have. I just like those possible colors for our website (and future banners and other uses). My two cents.

If you notice, the “i” in Catholic is different than the “i” in Xavier. Because they are so close to one another, leave Catholic out. However, put the line at the bottom of our stationery somewhere else on our website. Thanks.

Good morning,

After we ended the phone call yesterday, I was suggesting to Helen that instead of the orange banner at the top of the page, I suggested maybe a light gold color, and then have that same color for the other banners. That way not only will it match but it will also not clash with the blue that is being used for the menu bars. It will also look smooth. I have attached a reference at the bottom so you can kind of get an idea of what I’m referring to.

Hi Kindal,

We would need to change the logo colors then because it is in the logo. It won't make the F pop as much in the logo and probably clash with the other gold/bronze color. Did you want to see that?

I wouldn't recommend using this shade of gold because it has a green tint to it and it clashes with the blue and the other gold color.

In looking at St. Jude’s website, it seems “warmer” to us. I don’t know colors like you guys, but I think that’s what we’re going for – a little warmer (without the stark orange)… my two cents.

If you could give us Kindal’s suggested changes to view, that would be great.

I’ll defer to Kindal on the color changes for now.

Rather than the Prayer Requests box in the top right, can we make that Online Giving, like St. Jude’s?

Also, can we put “Welcome” and “Join Us!” in the box where we have Mass Times and the Bulletins? Maybe it needs to be rearranged – not sure, or eliminate something.

Hi Helen,

Might I suggest including a graphic in the photo slider to welcome people to the site? It will get more attention if you have a photograph behind the welcome and it can be the main photo you keep in your slider at all times. That way it won't crowd the box next to it.

FYI...I've added some comments to the prototype. In general, I think it looks good and we could move forward to design. (Still need Helen and Kindal's input) My assumption is we could still make some minor changes during design, like figuring out what to do with the prayer request button for example.

Yes, we should finalize the colors before moving forward because that will change the logo. But once we agree on the colors we can approve the design.

Yes, that is correct. We kept the yellow in the logo because it gives the F a nice contrast with the cross and building icon.
