Bonnie,

I exported and imported the following calendars to info@ and added the previous editors with the same levels of access. I will be going back in tomorrow and updating the user permissions.
  • St. Francis de Sales events + editors
  • Facility & Parking Calendar events + editors (all 25 of them!)
I shared the following calendars with info@
  • Purcell Marian
  • School Calendar
  • Fr. Gene
The only calendar I couldn't add to your info@ calendar was the cafeteria rental. You will have to ask whoever the owner of that calendar to share it with the info@stfrancisds.com email.

I also went ahead and grabbed the St. Francis de Sales calendar ID, so we can display them on your new website.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Veronica,

See the email below from Michel Kiedel. He indicates that from what he is seeing the domain has been transferred to the control of Diocesan. Could you please have your folks look into this to confirm that you have control of the domain. I just want to make sure we will have everything ready to transfer on Friday.

Please call if needed to discuss.

Thanks,

Hi Phil,

While Basecamp does not allow for forwarded emails, I believe that our phone conversation has filled me in. I logged into our domain registration site and saw that we did, in fact, transfer your domain to Diocesan back in January, which would have been around the same time we set up your new G Suite.

This means that we will be able to launch your website entirely on our end.

Please let me know if you have any other questions,

Thanks Veronica. We hopefully will be ready Friday to cutover. I should be able to let you know first-thing Friday morning.

Will that work?

Phil
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Yes, that should work. I will let the developer know.

Thank you, Phil,

Good morning Veronica,

I want to confirm that we would like to have the website launched today for SFDS.

We have 2 outstanding issues that were slated to be addressed yesterday that are still occurring.

1. That would be the sizing of the headlines on the accordion content pages (Ministry section of our site). On mobile, it is still overlapping when the headline goes to a 2nd line. I have an iPhone 8 and it wraps. A screen shot is attached. If we need to restyle that text to a smaller size to prevent wrapping, so be it for now. Ideally, the spacing would work on mobile even if the headline wrapped.
2. We requested different styling on the hyperlink text. Presently is it heavy bold and italicized. I would like to see it be more standardized text and if possible, underlined to look like a link. Presently, the underline shows up when you mouse over it, and that is fine if that is the way it has to work. But the way it looks now, does not intuitively say hyperlink to me. See below.

We do not want to hold up the launch for this fix, but I would hope these would be fairly simple changes prior to launch. Please confirm if you think the changes will make it and if you will be cutting over near noon today.

Thanks for all your help!

Good morning Phil,

We are, indeed, launching the website today, Friday, April 12. The switch will begin between 11 am and 12 pm, noon.

We have already fixed the accordion links and the styling of the links. If you are on your computer, you can do a hard refresh (hold down CTRL and click F5) and if you are looking on your iPhone, you will have to go into your settings to clear the cache. Please note that clearing your iPhone's cache will close all Safari windows currently open, as well. Here is the link on how to clear your Safari cache: https://www.imyfone.com/iphone-space-saver/4-ways-to-clear-cache-on-iphone-4/

For the links, we have updated them in the inner pages, but were curious to if you wanted us to also underline the links on the homepage under event items "Read More..." or the links in the footer.

Please let us know and we will make the necessary changes.

Thank you,

Veronica Alvarado

HI Veronica,

I've checked it out and from what I see on my phone, the sizing is working. Thanks!

In terms of the links, I would like any link to be underlined if possible. An example would be on this page:

[cid:9fb043f7-13ea-4fba-a9a7-e23e10146e3f]

I have email links on Kathy and Peggy but they do not show and formating. I bolded the copy to make it stand out more, but the link format did not work.

Hi Veronica,

I wanted to check with you in regards to the status of the cutover. Presently, I'm still seeing our old site and was just wonder if you have an expected time of activation.

Thanks,

Phil

Hi Phil,

I just sent an email with more information on the launch and why you may not be seeing any changes, but another thing to try is a hard refresh (CTRL + F5).

As for the email links, I have made a to-do for the developer. Unfortunately, he and our other developers have already left for the day. I will make sure he gets this done first thing on Monday morning.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns,

Thanks Veronica. All is working fine here and I know that folks in the parish are starting to see the site also.

I appreciate all your efforts and help. Have a great weekend!

Hi Veronica,

I'm pretty sure that you indicated the hyperlink issue was still being addressed. I just wanted to check on the status of it to see when you think there will be a fix, or if it was addressed, what I need to do to change the format of present links. The example below where I mention there is an email link on Kathy Mompher is an example where the link format is not showing up. There are several on the site, and they often occur when I try to assign a link to text that is using the Paragraph style set.

Thanks for any info.

Hello Phil,

Since you had visited that page before the change, you will have to do a hard refresh on the corresponding pages to see the change we made on Monday.
Here is what you should see:

Veronica,

I have done a hard refresh on both my work and home computers and I still seeing this:

[cid:aee0e0d0-a8ba-48b0-8613-24db38e6655d]

I have the latest version of Chrome at work and Safari at home (both are OSx).

I do a Command - R to do a hard refresh on the Mac.

Phil
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Hi Phil,

Command + R (Mac) and Control + R (Windows) are for simply refreshing the page.
Instead, please do Command + Shift + R for Safari or Control + Shift + R on Chrome to do a hard refresh. This will update the code for the page, rather than simply updating the content.

Thank you,

Veronica Alvarado

Veronica,

That worked, except that it is Command + Shift + R for Chrome on my Mac.

They are showing up underlined now. Thanks!

Hi Veronica, Phil and Mary
Just noticed a typo in Announcements - Easter Vigil should be p.m. instead a.m. I am not by a computer and unable to get to wordpress with my phone...
Please change. Thanks so much!
