Content

Hello Irene,

You can send all of your content questions/information to this email chain. That way the design and content is separately and it won't notify designers.

Thank you,

Thanks Veronica

I just sent design changes to Danae. So I assume I will see something new from her before we start on content.

Yes, most of the content will need to be migrated, but we do have some new things on the current design that I do want to discuss with the content team.
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Sounds good! Once your design is approved, we can set up a time to talk.
I'm excited to work with you again. It's been some time since we set up those G Suite accounts.

Hi Veronica

I approved the design on April 16. Do you have any idea when we will start the building of our new site and working on the content?

Our current website expires on June 15, 2019, in my note to Danae on March 21, I still have the 2 concerns listed below in red:

Danae
Great talking with you yesterday for our initial design discussions.
Please keep Fr. Gilbert and I appraised of our timing for our website going live.
As you indicated if we can't be fully live by before our other web hosting company expires (June 15, 2019) - you may be able to have a basic website launch and then a total launch at a later date.
As a reminder our web domain has already been switched to Diocesan (worked with Veronica) when your company set up our new emails through a Google G-Suite.
I did indicate to Gary Smith, that I am working from Florida now and will be back in Ohio mid April. So timing for our training can happen after April 15. But with the possibility of not being fully launched by June 1 or June 15, I need to also let you know I need to have training before June 26, because of other commitments.
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Good morning Irene,

I actually have you on my list to email on Monday, as this is when the developer is set to begin your project. Once he has started, it will be ~3 weeks before we send you a link to the development site and can schedule our first training session. That puts us at the week of June 3-7 for the training. This way, we will be ready to launch by the following Thursday or Friday (June 13/14) at the latest, if not sooner.

That said, will Diocesan be moving ALL of your website's current content? I know you had mentioned sending us more content to add to the existing site for you.

Here is a link to an editable, online document with all of your site's pages: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MQNaRSftPuIogMgEs3V1DxdQiUUfj8S8x-CrFTV7Seo/edit?usp=sharing

Please cross off any pages that you do not want us to migrate. Add and highlight any pages that you wish for us to ADD to your website.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Veronica Alvarado

Hi Veronica

I reviewed content and marked in red new pages or changed names.
I made a number comments or questions.

So this is the current plan. We can discuss anything or minor tweaks as the process goes along - correct?

The few pages that are going away or getting combined are highlighted in grey. I need to confirm if there is any need for the EOL Online Store.
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Hi Irene,

You can most definitely tweak the information as the project moves along. The reason we ask you to go through it in the beginning is because this content/sitemap will be what myself and Cody, our other content strategist, uses when migrating your current website to the new one and setting up the structure of the website.

Cody will send you a message before we begin moving content onto the new website so that you are aware.

Hi Veronica

I met with Fr. Gilbert and team and tweaked a few things in the Site Map today.

I am gathering some photos and new content - a few questions.
Q1: Can you tell me what pixel dimensions for the home page photos in the main rotating image space?
Q2: For new written content, do you want that supplied in a Word document?
Q3: For new photos content, do you want me to load to Dropbox, or do you have an ftp site to upload them?

Q4: Can you tell me what pixel dimensions for the longer page photos on some pages?
Q5: For our Events content, let me know the pixel dimensions of the photo area?
Q6: See my questions on how the Facebook feed will work & the $35 add-on that the design team said will allow a full page of Facebook post on our site.

Q7: Calendar access - let me know if you need anything or if you can pull that information off the current website.

Q8: For our new pages on Legacy of Faith - I have new text and six 8.5" x 11" page of a collage of historical photos - 1 collage for each of the 6 original parishes in our region. I can send you one and if you think it would be better to recreate something more web/phone friendly - please advise: if you need photos separate, for a collage to be created online - OR give me dimensions that I can reformat the collages.
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan
Good afternoon Irene,

I have answered your questions below:
  1. The homepage slider dimensions are dependent of the screen width, since it will be 70% of the width and a height of 400 px. Since the calendar events are alongside it and cannot shrink on a ratio basis, we cannot make the
The slide image will remain landscape until it reaches phone size, about 425px wide, at which point the photo becomes a square, as seen in the mobile mockup of the homepage (see here).
  2. Word Documents will work. Alternatively, you can also create Google Documents within the folder I created for file sharing:
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14aaboIczLb3fWP3jr7YXXXZ5c59iKNVm?usp=sharing
  3. Photos can be uploaded to the Google Drive folder that I have shared with you:
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/14aaboIczLb3fWP3jr7YXXXZ5c59iKNVm?usp=sharing
  4. Inner page image dimensions are 1600 px wide by 400px tall and DOES work on a ratio of 4:1 until it reaches tablet size (768px wide) at which points the width shrinks until the image is a square, as seen in the mobile mockup of the Staff Page (see here).
  5. News & Events photos use 400 px wide by 200px tall and will remain a 2:1 ratio as screen widths change.
  6.  I have answered your Facebook comment on the Site Map Google Document as well as here:
The $35 add-on will add the ability to view images, as well as display the full Facebook feed. I will have to ask the developer if we can make the individual Facebook posts link to a page within your website with all posts rather than directly to Facebook and let you know.
I have made a note that the top gold button and footer icon would go to the page with all posts.
  7. Since your Google Calendar is public, we were able to integrate it with your new website flawlessly.
  8. The alternative I'd like to propose for the Legacy of Faith pages is to create 6 galleries (1 of each original parish) with all of the photos, and then put the 6 galleries into a single album, resulting in a page similar to this parish's photo gallery (see here). That way, the photos can be individually seen larger and better suited to the visitor than in a collage. (see images below of example site)
For that, you can create a folder within the Google Drive folder I have shared and add the respective photos.

I uploaded a folder with pics for the ABOUT page slider - if it is possible to have 6 rotate that would be great (there were 5 in the design comp). Please have the 3 exterior building combo pic to be the first one. I made most of the building interior and exterior 72 dpi, 400 pixels tall - I have higher resolution if you need them higher.

There is also a folder with Wider versions of the exterior and interior - these can be used on other page headers as needed.

ALSO: On all pages under the Office address in bottom footer, please add our generic email: parishoffice@epiphanyofthelord.org (mailto:parishoffice@epiphanyofthelord.org)

Good Afternoon Irene,

Good news, I am nearing completion on moving your content over. Before I finish, I have a couple of questions that have come up.

Firstly, do you have the login information for the parish's Facebook? The plugin that Veronica talked about with you before requires an Access Token and to obtain that, it needs to connect to the account and for that, we need the login info.

Secondly, could you send over those higher resolution building and interior photos (the side by side by side ones)? You can put them in that folder from before—just let me know when that happens! The Building Exterior and Interior ones are a little blurry, so I think it would be better to have higher resolution photos. Six photos on the slider are perfectly acceptable to address your previous concern.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Cody

This is our Facebook link:
https://www.facebook.com/EpiphanyoftheLordParish.org/

A previous pastor set up the parish facebook and later added me as an administrator.

So do you need anything else? I know my own personal sign in info for Facebook.

I will upload the higher resolution images for the slide pics
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Hi Irene,

Your personal sign-in info would work for it. It will not use your own personal profile since it can only load the feed from Facebook Pages that are not personal accounts. So no worries on that.

Thank you for the higher resolution images.

Cody Armock

the 2 higher resolution pics are in that content folder in a folder called "higher resolution pics"
They are probably too big, so reduce as you need them

I have made a few changes to the website today.
The About page changes are temporary, so ignore about the location changes for mass.

Please adjust or we will do in our training time:
1.
On Mass Schedule, change the Saturday mass information to:
Saturday*
4:00 p.m. Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas
June - September
(Confessions at 3:00 p.m.)

2.
I removed the Children mass schedule & photo, because it is completed for the school year.
A temporary changes is the notice about our Saturday night location changing, but that won't matter in another week or so.

I have other changes coming in from some of the staff, that I have not made yet - many are the end of the Religious Ed - so let me know if we should wait until our training.
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan

Good morning, Veronica,

Should I wait on this till they have more changes? I will hopefully be completing St. Helen's today and starting on the Beckett. I have a few other odds and ends before starting on Helen for today, but didn't know where this was prioritized? Just curious.

If you have any questions, let me know!
Thank you and have a great day,

You can work on these items whenever you get the chance. Add them as to-dos so that if you can't get them done before Tuesday, we'll go through them during the training.
