Staff Page Question
Hello Alison,
Ryan forwarded me the email you sent regarding your staff page. It seems like the issue is that the "Parish Staff" menu item is not linked to the correct page. Your site is set up so that the staff profiles auto-populate to this page. You're going to want to make sure that the "Parish Staff" menu item is linked to that URL so that it pulls in all those beautiful staff profiles you've created.
In order to do this, go into the back-end dashboard of your site and find the "Menus" option by hovering over "Appearance" in the left sidebar. From there you'll want to find the "Custom links" option on the left-hand side of the screen and paste this URL (https://divinemercymd.diocesanweb.org/staff/) where it says URL. Where it says "Link Text" you can put "Our Staff" or "Parish Staff", whatever you want it to say in the menu. Then select "Add to menu", which will toss it at the very bottom of the list. Just click and drag it up to where "Parish Staff" currently is in that list under About Us and delete the old "Parish Staff" page from the menu. Then you'll be all set!
If you run into any issues with this, please just reply to this thread in Basecamp and we can help you out.
Thanks and God bless,

Thanks, Meghan!
One more question: Why, when I add pictures to the staff profiles, do they not appear on this page?
Thanks again,
Alison

Good morning Alison,
Could you give me an example of one of the staff profiles that you added images to so I can go into the backend of your site and take a look?
As for your question about header images on subpages, there is a tab on the righthand side of the screen in the page editor titled "Featured Image". If you click on that you're able to change the featured image for that individual page.
Hope that helps!

So, I put in pictures for Fr. Ed Hendricks, Margie Meyers, Sharon Bogusz and Edward Jones. If I go to "Staff" in the menu, and click on edit for a particular profile, the picture is there. However, in the greater staff page, no pictures.

Ok, I see what the issue is. So rather than inserting photos as a block on the page, you're going to want to set those pictures as the staff photos. That will pull them over onto the staff page automatically. You can set the staff photos in the menu on the right-hand side of the staff profile editor where it says "Staff Member Image".
Please let me know if you run into any issues with this!

Hi Meghan-
Thanks for all your help! One more question: Is it possible to add audio to the hero video on the front page? There was originally audio embedded int hat video, but it doesn't seem to have come across. If we can't use the original, can we choose a separate audio file, or is that not even an option? Either way is fine; just a request from the pastor 🙂
Thanks,
Alison

Good morning Alison,
You're welcome! It is not possible to add audio to a hero video or anywhere on the home page. The hero video is meant to be a quick (about 7 seconds or less) video that loops silently, more like a GIF than a YouTube video. In general when you're designing a website you want to make sure that people visiting your site have control over any video or audio that's playing. It's pretty unpleasant to visit a website that starts blaring a video without you even clicking on it, right?
If you want to have a longer video with audio on your site, you'll want to embed it on an interior page such as your About Us or Parish History pages.

Hi, Meghan!
I hope your summer is going well!
Can you help me? On my homepage, I've created a featured content block for an upcoming event (a baseball game). I'd like the button below the picture to link to a form that's already created in my forms section. However, I can't get the form linked to the button. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help!
Alison
