Diocese of St Augustine - Jacksonville, FL

Weekly Update

Good afternoon Brandon and Kathleen,

Periodically we like to send our clients a recap of their project from a time & cost perspective. Initially, we had quoted a price of $3570 (51 hours x $70hr) for website creation.

We arrived at that price by breaking the web project down as follows:
  • Design: 17 hours budgeted/23.6 hours used
  • Build: 28 hours budgeted/0 hours used
  • Content Migration: 6 hours budgeted/0 hours used
This brings our current cost to $1652.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out at any time.

Thank you!

FROM THE CLIENT Kathleen Bagg, Diocese of St Augustine - Jacksonville, FL Staff
Thanks, Alan!

I don’t have much wiggle room in the budget. So if we have gone over in design hours, is that because of our conference calls or actual time designing? Can we make up the difference somewhere else?

Kathleen
TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Hi Kathleen,

The design hours accounted are specifically for the time spent creating the actual designs. That said, I think we should further discuss out what you are wanting for the remaining items before going too much further. The specific items I have in mind are the Ministry Staff and the Mega Menu.
For both of these items, we have updates on what we've found that does or does not work and alternatives to talk through before continuing.

With the budget in mind, Blake will be on hold with designs so that we can review what he has so far together before going any further.

I think where we can make up this time is definitely going to be in the Content Migration portion. If your team is putting all of the menus together, we can do the training upfront then have your team do all the menus. That takes our Content Migration hours down by at least 4 hours.

On the development side, the time spent in design and in our meetings takes away the guesswork for the developer and can take time off the developer's end of things. This is the other place where we should be able to save some hours.

I've made notes on the project for minimizing the content hours and have been putting together a document for the developer in regards to functionality notes.

Thank you,

Veronica Alvarado
