Find A School locator

Hi Diocesan Team:
I was trying out the "Find a School" icon from my PC and ran into some difficulty.  I typed in a zip code (18344) and selected "10 miles" from the drop down as I knew what the results should be.  And the 3 schools presented were correct.  I wanted to try it a different way and selected a different town from the drop down and selected 25 miles.  When I clicked "Search", the same 3 schools from the previous search appeared, although they were incorrect based on the town and mileage selection.  I clicked "Clear" thinking I had to tell it to do a new search, selected the town and 25 miles, and clicked "Search" but the same 3 schools appeared.  Is there a trick to using this feature or is it something on the back end that needs to be corrected?

Thanks!
Danielle

Danielle,

Backend correction needed.  Fortunately, I ran into this earlier today with Find a Parish, so I know exactly what I need to do to fix.  I'll repair this before 5pm today.

Danielle,

You can test the Find a School page now.  I've applied my changes and did a quick test and found things to be working as expected.

Hi Ryan:

I am running into a new issue with the "Find A School" page.  When I am using my iPhone 5 with Safari as a browser, the school photo appears but the information appears to the right of the image.  You have to scroll to the right to see it.  When I'm using my iPhone 6, the problem seems to rectify itself.  Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Danielle,

Very strange.  To my knowledge, iPhone 5 and 6 are very similar in size and resolution, so I don't have any great ideas on why this would be the case.  The rules are based on browser width, so if anything iPhone 5 should adjust sooner.

I used this site: http://iphone5simulator.com/ to get an idea, and while this isn't a true emulation, it does give me a decent idea on how things are working.  The Find a School looks okay to me here.

Have you cleared your cache on your iPhone 5?  That could very well be the issue.  I'm going to work on adjusting the site so users don't have to clear their cache, but for right now that's the only sure fire way to test it.
