I wanted to follow up from training yesterday about what we need to set up the Instagram feed for the homepage. All we would need from you is access (username & password) for the Instagram account found here: https://www.instagram.com/cardinalpacelli_olctk/?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=v3mg3ukszdd6

Once we have the username and password for it, we will be able to set it up on the website.

You can select Web there for the Google Analytics setup.

I will make those user accounts and send them emails shortly.

The website, when launched, will still go to the same web address. It is just at a development/staging site right now, but once the site is ready, we will launch it to olctk.org.

Cody,

The way Instagram is set up, when I try to log out of our school/church account it just switches me to my personal account. So if I can't log out, there's no way for me to reset the password. Why do you need the password to link Insta to our website? Can't you just link it to the account? cardinalpacelli_olctk

In order to pull in the photo feed from the account, we need access to the account. Otherwise, we could just link off to the Instagram page, but it will not show the pictures from the account on the website. If you want, I can have it send a reset password email to your email, so you can go from there.

Hello Alisa,

For the picture to be able to be resized and manipulated in terms of location, you would make it an "Image" block rather than the featured image. The featured image will always be that size and that position, but an 'Image' block can be aligned to the right or left, and resized, you'd add a block just like a 'paragraph' block and then manipulate the image size and alignment from there.

Hello Alisa,

We can review this in next Monday's training. Selecting the 'image' block and setting the image you want and probably setting it to right-aligned would probably be good. The text will wrap around the image then.

Good Morning Alisa,

I have added the Instagram feed to the website/homepage. I also added a page on the website called Our Instagram (Linked here) that you can link to from other pages/posts, if you wanted. The backend is just a shortcode with some added functionality from the homepage because I wanted to match the proof as much as possible on the homepage.

Also, did we decide what we are doing on the homepage with the calendar? Do you have a parish calendar that we could set up? Google Calendars work best, but we have been able to use Outlook in the past.

Let me know if you have questions and how to proceed with the calendar!
