Hi Sam!
I'm back in the office. It will be a hectic week, but I'm excited to see what you've got for us.
Thanks!

Hi Sam,
I have some information you need to know, and it would be good if you could act on it as soon as possible.
I have received an email from Fr. Lawrence Gearhart who set up the old website. Though he is a bit mistaken in his first paragraph (about the app replacing the web site) the rest of the information is pertinent.
He says,
" Amy,
As I understand it, the MyParish app is largely replacing the website, champaigncatholics.org (http://champaigncatholics.org). There have been no updates to the latter in several months. That's understandable. Technological trends change.
While it has not cost me anything to provide the site, itself, I had paid for an SSL certificate for the site. Since it no longer fulfills the need it once did, I will let that certificate expire on September 10th. Meanwhile, you might remove the link to the website from the app.
I plan to leave the website up for legacy purposes until you tell me that it is no longer needed for that purpose.
Fr. Larry"
I replied to him that you are working on a new web page for us and that you will need whatever he has and that the new site will have the same address. I told him I would have you get in touch with him this week.
Fr. Larry Gearhart: frlarryg@gmail.com (mailto:frlarryg@gmail.com) 937-414-7977
He is expecting to hear from you.
Thanks Sam!

Thank you for the heads up,
I will send you and him a copy of the current state of the design so he can see where the project is at. We are ready on our end to move onto development. I understand where he is coming from and with the trend moving towards more cell phone use, there is still a need for websites, I would recommend anybody and everybody to have a website that has some sort of public forum.
There will always be the need for a website, the myParish app can showcase a lot but it can do everything.
I will relay the information shared here with him as well.
Thanks,
Samuel Lanning

Sam,
He doesn't need to see it. You just need to get the information from him to continue with the same web address. He's no longer affiliated with our parishes.

Thank you for clearing that up, I too was a bit confused about the myParish app stuff. I will reach out to him soon!
