Development Phases

Good Afternoon,

I had the opportunity to meet with my developer to discuss the progress of your website. We want to move the development into two phases so we can keep the project moving.

Phase  One: Start development of pages to keep project in motion, includes home page, contact page, history, ect. basic pages that will give us a good start. Michael and Veronica will begin building pages and filling them with content. We can begin this phase of development within the next week or two.

Phase Two:
This will include the Funds system that works with Blackbaud. The implementation of the API will add some time to the project and we want to dedicated time in order to get this step right. This phase will begin once the Fund page is finalized, and the Blackbaud system is set up.

Thanks,

Samuel Lanning

Right now, not much, Do you know an estimated time when you will be moving to Blackbaud?
FROM THE CLIENT Michael Morse, Executive Director at Catholic Community Foundation of Southwest Florida
We should be moving to the Blackbaud online giving system within the next two weeks.

I would like to show the Bishop and Chancellor something by next week prior to our Marketing Committee meeting. Would it be possible to have some working demo pages?

No, we wont be able to have a working demo for you by next week. I had mentioned before that the development of phase one would begin in a week or two.

We will have a working demo for you to showcase shortly after we start Phase 1, with the blackbaud system being set up we will be able to continue into Phase 2 right after Phase 1 is complete.

Thanks,

Samuel Lanning
TO THE CLIENT Gary Smith, Web Department Director at Diocesan
Michael,

Just to keep you aware of what is happening. I have one of our main developers looking at the Blackbaud API implementation. We've worked with other payment gateway API's (Authorize.net, Heartland, etc) but have never used Blackbaud. Unfortunately each gateway does not always implement their API the same. So we need to determine exactly how  their system will work in conjunction with your website and how we will not only create the pages for your funds, but hopefully create it in a way that you can add new ones without needing to get a developer involved.
FROM THE CLIENT Michael Morse, Executive Director at Catholic Community Foundation of Southwest Florida
Thank you Gary. Are you also working with the Diocese of Venice on their implementation of the Blackbaud system onto their new website?

Michael,

No I hadn't heard anything from Venice. My developer reached out to Blackbaud but wasn't able to get very far. Apparently we need you to request for us to have access to their API documentation. Below is a recap of my developers chat with Blackbaud. It looks like you need to request that we are able to access their support department.

15:42:30 [Kyle] Looking for API/Documentations for charging for our customer
15:43:26 [Danielle Graf] Hello Kyle!
15:43:45 [Kyle] Hello!
15:44:18 [Danielle Graf] Can you clarify what you mean?
15:45:46 [Kyle] We have a customer that signed up for your service. I need to build a credit card charge system into their website. I was looking for a guide or code sample for charging a card. Do I need a merchant account for that? I did sign up for a developer account.
15:46:08 [Kyle] Tried to message product support, but said I wasn't a customer.
15:46:47 [Danielle Graf] All of our services have an open API and can interface with other systems.
15:47:13 [Danielle Graf] Our support team would really be the individuals who can walk you through this more.
15:47:40 [Danielle Graf] The client would have to request this from support.
15:48:30 [Kyle] Ok, I'll let them know, thanks!
15:48:49 [Danielle Graf] I apologize I could not be more help. Have a great day Kyle!
15:48:54 [Kyle] You too!
