Project Timeline

Hello Judy,


This is Veronica, the content specialist and project manager. We spoke in the inital design consultation and I have been going over things with Blake as the design progresses.

I know we were hoping to launch by September 1, but our project queue did not allow for this. However, Blake and I have been going over design, function & content goals a lot this week, so he will have some designs for you to look at very soon.

Here is the timeline we are currently looking at:

  • Design Completed
    • 1 week - In the next week or so, Blake will send you the homepage and inner page designs.
  • Design Tweaks
    • Up to you, as it depends on the number of design changes.
  • Official Design Approval
    • Up to you, so it can be immediate or delayed.
  • Development Begins
    • ~3 weeks after the official design approval is given, we begin developing your website. It is typically 4-6 weeks, but since we are trying to get the project done sooner, rather than later, we can prioritize it as much as possible in the development queue so that development begins ~3 weeks after approval.
  • Development Link Sent
    • 2 weeks after we begin developing your website, we will be at ~80% completion. At this point, we will send you a link to the in-progress website and schedule a training date.
  • Training
    • Up to you, so it can be set for the day after the development link has been sent or delayed.
  • Launch
    • 2 weeks minimum is required between the training and the launch, as this will give you time to go through all your information, get comfortable with editing the website, and allow Diocesan to make your website mobile friendly. This time may be extended if there are a lot of design/functionality changes.
In short, the quickest this project can be done is in ~8 weeks, but even that timeline is the bare minimum amount of changes. With this in mind, please be sure to focus on your goals and how you expect this website to function as you look over the designs. 

By Blake going through your design in depth, we hope to discuss functionality so that there are no "gotcha" moments when it comes to the developers implementing the design. In addition to "gotcha" changes in development, the second biggest stall is content, so please be sure to have all your content ready for your new website, if any.
