Development Link & Training
Good afternoon Everyone,
We have reached the point in development at which we share a link to the development site with you.
Training Sessions
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via a screen share program. We will send over the meeting link and phone number in a later email.
During the training sessions, we go over:
- How to edit the homepage content
- How to edit the footer
- How to edit the menu
- How to create/edit inner pages
- How to create/edit posts
- How to create/edit image galleries
- How to create/edit online forms
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:
Session 1: Editing the site basics
Session 2: Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once.

Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.

I noticed the developer made most of the changes. Thanks for passing those along! For the ministry slider, we liked the arrows on the side, just not the fact that they moved. Can you please have those put back instead of the buttons on the bottom? For the "View All News" button at the bottom of the home page, can you please have this left justified? Also, is there a way to duplicate pages? Thank you!

Just wanted to bring your attention to a few things:
* I noticed the arrows on the slider on the homepage have not been changed yet.
* The image size you gave us (1920x625) for the banner on the homepage is also not correct.
* The mobile-friendly site is a mess.
We are hoping to launch in a week or two, but some of these issues (like the mobile site) would hold us back. Thanks!

I have added your notes so that the developer can go in and fix them. The dimensions for the image slider (1903x625) are for desktop and the image currently is shown beneath the header too, but the developer will be fixing that so that those dimensions will be correct.

Hi Cody,
It looks like the developer was playing with the site yesterday and made a few of the changes (i.e. the arrows on the slider, the "view all" button relocation for the news, and making the banners clickable on the homepage). However, by the end of the day, the banner on the homepage now has an awkward button in the middle of every image, and the next image is peaking on the right side. Not sure if I just caught a work in progress or what, but can you please take a look into this and fix it?
Also, on the locations map, I am getting phantom duplicates in some searches. It's the address of a location that exists, but without the name or anything else. And it's always a duplicate of one of the other search results.

Hello Jason,
I was able to find the fix for both of those issues. It looks like there were duplicate offices added and subsequently deleted, but the server did not reflect those changes which is how the duplicates were coming up.
As for the blank spots for services, when going to one of those pages all you have to do is click the Edit Page button in the admin bar and update that page again. There must have been a service added then deleted from it and it just needs the update to refresh the services for that Page.

On the locations page, there are multiple issues with locations not showing the services list when you click on "details & directions." I tried what you had said previously with no luck. Also, can you please remove the fax and email line from each location's "details & directions." Thanks!
On mobile:
* It does not look like the page is formatted for mobile. The fonts don't seem to scale down very much. It's pretty universal, but especially noticeable for the footer text.
* The logo on the footer is also being stretched vertically.
* The banner image should have the same ratio (or at least the same orientation) as the banner on the desktop site.
* The donate, find help, and volunteer buttons are not properly formatted.

If you go to Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways > Paypal link underneath it and then Connect with PayPal, I think you can use that Paypal to accept payments.
Again, I have never used GiveWP before, so I am not too familiar with it. If you would like, we could alternatively set up PayPal with the Forms option we use on the website and you can just a make a normal form through that.

Bobby, I have deleted all the data for the plugin and reactivated it. You will have initial setup with it, but I think the initial John Doe is just default text though. Sorry to keep adding to the list, but we're hoping to go live on Thursday, so there are more eyes on the website and more eyes means more changes! Here's what's on the list today.
* For some reason, only on Firefox, under the Volunteer tab, the last letter (no matter the length of the word) on the first button always drops to it's own line. (see attached)
* Please increase the size of the logo at the top of the homepage so that the top of the heart is even with the top of the "Donate, Volunteer, Find Help" lettering and the bottom of the church is even with the bottom of the menu lettering. (see attached)
* Please change the "SELECT LANGUAGE" drop-down to "Select Language."
* Please change the arrow color on the homepage ministry sliders to blue (they are a little difficult to see with the white-ish background.
* All this in addition to the things from my last email.

For today's list:
* On the locations tiles, it looks like the phone number got removed instead of the email link. Can you please leave the phone number and remove the email link?
* Same area, it looks like there is a space/void left from the deleted phone number and fax number, can you please fix that as well?
* The last letter on the first button on the Volunteers page is still dropping to its own line.
* On mobile:
* I think the ministry pages themselves look fine. The homepage is where there is some work that needs to be done.
* The header fonts all around should be shrunken down a little. I did notice the paragraph text appears smaller and more mobile-friendly.
* The banner on the homepage should be in landscape (like the desktop site), not portrait.
I did see all of the other changes (I think), and it's really looking good. Definitely getting ready for showtime! Thank you all!

I have made to-dos for the developer. Have you done a hard-refresh (instructions) for the Volunteers button? I know the developer looked into that yesterday and when I test it on Firefox. I do not have that same issue.
