Training & Questions

Good Afternoon Saint Brigid Staff,

As I mentioned yesterday, I have attached a document outlining how to edit the website. As you begin editing the website, use this as your guide. Additionally, after launching you may find answers to more in depth questions you may have here. This becomes especially helpful after launching, as post-launch support calls will be billed to the parish.

Of course, I still hope to have a second training to go over how to enter the items that will be updating the most often. These are the items I believe you will be updating on a regular basis:
  • Messages of the Week (copied weekly from the bulletin)
  • Pastor's Corner (copied weekly from the bulletin)
  • Events (semi-weekly/monthly)
  • Envira Gallery (as needed basis/semi-monthly)

One thing I did want to reiterate is that you do not have to create new pages for the "How Do I..." menu items. Instead, you will add them as the page you would like to link to and edit the Navigation Title to say "Become a Baptism/RCIA Sponsor," for example. I have done one already for you to mimic.

In the image below, I have shown the following steps:
  1. Check the page you wish to add
  2. Click Add to Menu
  3. Click and drag page to desired location
  4. Click the v next to the word Page to edit
  5. Change title as desired
  6. Click Save Menu

Additionally, we still need your current website login in order to migrate the previous Pastor's Corners over to the new website.

Thank you and I will send you a message when we have the menu ready to go!

TO THE CLIENT Veronica Alvarado, Project Manager at Diocesan

Daisy,

Thank you so much for this information. I just talked to my coworker that works on any Joomla migration and with his schedule we should have all previous Pastor's Corner articles and Message of the Week pulled in by the end of next week, at the latest.

Thanks again for the help and everything you've done with your current site so far,

Dear Veronica,
I know I asked you during the training but I can't find my note.

How do I set up a SHORT CUT url, like
www.saintbrigid.org/momsgroup<http://www.saintbrigid.org/momsgroup>
or
www.saintbrigid.org/menofsb<http://www.saintbrigid.org/menofsb>

or
Www/saintbrigid.org/altarservers

To go straight to their page.

Or to a document like:
www.saintbrigid.org/fish<http://www.saintbrigid.org/fish> (take you to the Lenten dinner menu )

Thank you

Yours in Christ,
