1. If I have a photo that I want to use that goes the width of the page, what would the dimensions be? I have uploaded an image that is 1500 x 800 and when I add it to the page it is so small and can’t be made bigger.
2. Also, is there a way to break up the information on a page via blocks like on the homepage? Using the accordion style isn’t what I’m looking for in breaking up the information because I don’t want it to collapse.

Sorry for getting back to you so late in the day! I've been here since 7 and am finally down to only 3 support emails left in my inbox. (At one point, I was up to 24!)
- I am guessing that when you are adding the image, you are not looking at the Attachment Display Settings.
- Click Add Media
- Click on desired image.
- On the right, there will be the image information, including the Attachment Display Settings.
- Here, you can change the size that it will display on the page.
- There is an option to select Full Size, which may be what you are looking for!
- Click Add Media
- For breaking up text using blocks, there are two options within your pages:
- When editing a page, there is Flexible Content in which you can add one column, two column, etc.
- In any of these content containers, we have Headings, which are bigger fonts that you can use as section titles. For more information, see the Styles page (http://blessedsacrament.diocesanweb.com/styles-page/)
- We can most definitely change the way page titles appear, but since this is a design change that adds development time, it will be an additional cost to your original, project.

As far as the changes we have on our end, here is what we have:

- Staff/Docs template pages need to wrap correctly
- Add padding (white space on either side) of Single Column section

Good morning Kristyn,
I talked to a developer and they estimated 1.5 hour ($75).
I have a quick mockup based off of Holy Spirit's design, but box-shaped, so that it matches your theme.
Do you prefer the blue title box or the tan title box? (Obviously we would remove the page title from the header.)
Personally, I think the tan looks better, as we don't want too much blue taking over the page, but let me know what you think.

Haha, yeah it may be a bit much if we were to go with blue!
We will make the change and send you an invoice for the time/cost of the change. As for the methods of payment, I believe it is up to you whether you would like to email a check, or pay online.

We took out the page title from the top to test it, and it ended up looking extremely empty, like it was missing something. We are thinking one of these two may be better for you.

However, is there a way to have all the posts tagged adult faith formation show up? Right now, I think it only shows the most recent six. I thought maybe I could add a recent posts widget, but it wouldn’t allow me to do that, so maybe we can up the amount of posts it shows on a page?

I'm glad you've been able to edit the pages alright.
Right now, I have the plugin used to display posts (WP Show Posts) hidden. I have made it visible for you to see and edit as needed.
WP Show Posts essentially allows you to change the display options. You can create one for any post category, and choose to display things such as images, dates, categories (tags), how many columns, how many posts, etc.
They are added to pages using the shortcode found while editing the list that will look something like [wp_show_posts id="##"].
You can also add them while editing a page by clicking the icon in the visual editor and selecting which Show Posts List you'd like to insert:

Oh no, I completely understand! I typically try to crop the images so that they all line up too, haha.
If anything, I'm glad Blessed Sacrament has someone that cares about appearances to work on their websites. A lot of times, we work with people who just try to cram as much information as they can, onto the website. So it ends up bloated with a lot of information that parishioners ignore because there's no image to capture their attention.

- I apologize for not checking up on the changes to the page heading and logo. I will see to it that this is done tomorrow since our web developer is out sick today. Again, I am so sorry about that delay. That is entirely on us.
- The youth pages are using Slider Revolution. I knew we were to migrate the youth sites into this one, but wasn't sure how, so I just made a slider for it.
Slider Revolution can be hard to work with, but I have created a template for you to use and will send those instructions separately. If you need more help with it, let me know and we can schedule a second training. - As for the blog, we can most definitely create one for you! Do you have a name for the blog? If so, just let me know and I can set it up right away.

I upload the image I want to use and then I crop to the portion of the image that I want to show to the correct dimensions, but it doesn’t show what I would like to show. There is the Homepage Header Image (found in Options > Home Page Header) and the Default Hero Image for inner pages and posts (found in Options > Header).
The image for both the homepage and inner pages will always be a fixed height, independent of the image's height.
So if your image is shorter, then it will just be grey behind it. This is because the design choice for the homepage was to have a large image on the homepage, not a small banner. Similarly, the inner pages & posts are set to have short banners.
This keeps all the pages from having different sized banners.
Are you wanting us to change the code for the homepage to be the height of your bulletin banner?

I talked to the developer and we are changing the code so that the image will cover the background, no matter the screen size. Also, just so you know,it will remain fixed at top-center.
I will let you know once we have done this so that you can hard refresh your page and see the changes.

I was thinking that the gradient would start dark at the top and then lighten up as it heads to the bottom. It just puts a cloudy look over it the same as the solid overlay.
Maybe it’s something with my computer.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Kristyn,
We can definitely change up those buttons on the homepage. In the future, you'll need to contact us for support to change them because it is hardcoded in. This is due to the fact that when you hover over the icons, they change, meaning we had to hardcode which two icons to switch between depending on the mouse position.
There is the option of adding a section to the options page so that you can set the buttons yourself. It would look something like this:
Our developer gave us the estimate of ~2 hours ($100) of development time. If this is something you are interested in, let me know and they can take a look at it. If not, we can simply change the code.
As for the gradient, it seems as though the actual gradient is turned off. I will get one of the developers to fix this today.

For example, I would like to create posts for both the middle and high school youth ministry events and have them show up in their own space on each page. We could most definitely launch the new website on November 15! I have let the developer know.
Also, for the staff section, our team is still working on it. We had solved it but then something broke.
Our plan is to have the staff page display their bios, favorite saint, etc, BUT when using staff on an inner page (Staff & Docs page template) it will only show their photo and contact information.
We think that works best because some of the staff has relatively long bios and be inconsistent throughout the pages.
I made sure the developer will work on that today and get the kinks worked out before the weekend.

Sorry I haven’t been in touch lately. I was out with bronchitis for a week, but now is crunch time for the website!
I know a while we talked about adding a blog to the website. I was wondering if this is still a viable option? Also, do you think it would be best to launch it with the website on the 15th or could it be added on later?

No worries, Kristen. I was out of the office then sick with strep throat, so I completely understand!
We can definitely create the blog. I am out of the office again (go figure!) But I will get someone to set it up by the end of the week.
I'll put you on our calendar as a tentative launch for next Thursday, November 16.

I think the date I originally sent was Thursday, November 15, but if we need to push it back to the 16th I can be ready for that as well.

I do have one really quick question about our homepage: the ribbon under the header photo with links to “I’m New” “Bulletins” “School” “Giving” is really shrunk down. It used to span the whole blue ribbon and now it’s centered in the middle and it seems small. I don’t know if it’s my computer settings, but it looks unbalanced. I’m just wondering if something happened in the code for it.

Hi Veronica,
I am working on the website, and I noticed that our header photos are really small at the top and the page title box that we added also are longer on the page. It looks as if the whole website has been zoomed out. My browser is set to normal zoom, and I just noticed it being different from before this week.
Not sure if this is something on my end or in the code.

I apologize for not answering more quickly - Basecamp has been having some downtime today and we haven't been able to respond to messages through it. One of our developers is currently working on mobile responsiveness for the site so you may notice some odd things while he is testing it and making updates.
He'll be finished tomorrow, so until then, you may notice some parts of the website are looking a little bit strange!

Hello Kristyn,
We will be putting your launch on our calendar for Thursday, November 15 and will be sending you the launch instructions either the day before or Thursday morning.
As for the homepage boxes, we are still working on it. It seems that we optimized it for mobile but now just that section of the homepage is stuck in the tiny mobile mode! We'll figure it out ASAP, so there is no need to worry and we will keep you updated.

Hello Kristen,
I just re-titled the blog to Blessed Thoughts. As for putting it in the menu, you can do so by editing your menu (Appearances > Menu). For your blog, I have done so already.

We will want to do it from website to the app.
Here is the RSS Link to use in the app once you have launched:
http://blessed-midland.org/homilyarchive/feed/
You will simply need to change the Homilies button to an RSS feed.
I will send you an email this afternoon on how to launch.
PLEASE DO NOT LAUNCH THE SITE UNTIL AT LEAST 11:00 AM TOMORROW. If you launch before 11:00 am, then the site will be broken and you will be unable to update or view the site.

The settings you will be changing will be in the Advanced Users section of that page (below the green box). Then you should be able to select the type of record you'd like to put in.
IF IT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO CHANGE/ADD THESE, you will have to remove the Name Servers 1&2 and put in the example ones (NS1.NETWORKSOLUTIONS.COM & NS2)
Feel free to screenshot the "Advanced Users" section so that we can help you. Or if you'd like, we can screen share (like we did for the training) and I can guide you through it.
