Page Updates

Here are the changes we talked about, I working with the text and had to leave it white. Any other color was getting lost in its own way. So I added a small black gradient to help push the white forward from gettings lost in the background image. This will help no matter what image is in the background.

I also talked to my developers and they said we will work on finding a way of pullin out all the locations you dont want on the map. We will have to build a custom map for you so it will probably look different from the traditional google map, but will function exactly the same.

Thanks,

Samuel Lanning

Thanks Sam- we'll have a good look at this... if the revised map includes a cost, we'll live with what Google offers....

Good Day Sam... once I have the calendar in Google Calendar for you, I'd rather expect that we'll be ready to go live... only detail that involves the DoV (cc-ed here) is to coordinate the moves from ".com" to ".org".... that should be fairly straightforward...

Good Day All... Diocesan Presses web developers are close to a final product. At some point the Diocese of Venice and Diocesan will have to agree to a cutover date.  At that point the old ".com" addresses should be moved to the new ".org" addresses both for the site and emails. Since pointers can be set from all the old ".com's" to all the new ".org's" there should be few issues.
Mr. Lanning:  How about if we start with you proposing a time/date when the software will be ready for cutover?

IT Helpdesk: we have one issue to resolve for the App and likely the web software - the App (for sure) is designed to use Google Calendar to feed it. Our current calendar on the old APi site isn't a Google Calendar.  Perhaps the best choice would be to create a gmail account solely for a calendar - or a calendar could be added to an existing account at St Bernard's. Would you suggest one of these or a different alternative?

Hey Joe!

Currently the .org requests are being ‘redirected’ to the .com domain. Sounds like you’d want us to flip that so .com is redirected to .org in the future, which is very possible.

Diocesan: please note that the site will need to answer for .org vs. the current .com. We can take care of that during the cutover.

Let us know at least 2 days before cutover and we’ll have someone ready here for the cutover.

Note: folks at St. Bernard have both the .com and .org addresses. Paulette: is it safe to assume you’ll want to keep both or would you prefer to drop the .com and keep the .org?

Peace!

I am going to tag Kevin in on this topic, he may know more than me about the cutover. Once we have the project in the hands of our developer, they will also be in contact about the progress of the build and will be able to answer any questions you have during that time.

Thanks,

Samuel Lanning

Joe,

Greetings once again!  With the Diocese managing both the .com and .org domains, it will be very easy for them to switch and make the .org address the preferred live site when ready.

Our developer, Kyle, will be in contact soon to touch base on when he is ready to begin building the live site.  In addition, our content specialist, Veronica, will be helping to facilitate migrating the current web content into the new one.

At this point, it is too early to set a "cutover" date--which I take to mean as a "launch" date, correct?  When the project is closer to completion, Kyle will coordinate a date with you and the Diocese to make the site go live.  Before this, though, Veronica will coordinate a training session with you as well.  At that point, you will have complete access to the site to finalize content before going live.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

-Kevin Ferguson

Yes... cutover = launch (I always worked somewhat larger systems before retiring... I'll await Kyle's contact.

Hey Joe!

Just checking in on the status of the cut-over. Again, no rush on our part. Just wanted to make sure you’re not waiting on us for something.

Peace be with you!
