Update & Timeline
Hi Rebecca,
I wanted to let you know that you are currently #5 in our development queue. In the meantime, I wanted to get your input on the proposed sitemap.
I know that some information may need updating, but are there any pages in this list that you would like us not to migrate? Or are there any pages you'd like us to add? If so, please send us the content.
Also, do you have a preferred date for us to begin content migration? I know Blake mentioned that you wanted to make sure we talked to you before moving content.
Click here to see your proposed sitemap. Feel free to comment on this Google Document what items are NOT being migrated, and what pages are ready to be migrated.
Let me know if you have any questions,

Hi Veronica,
There are pages on our website that we don't want to migrate, I have a meeting set for tomorrow to review all of our pages so I will add this document you sent to our agenda and when will review that too and let you know any updates.
We don't have a desired date/deadline, we were just thinking that we will take whatever projected start you give us and make sure we get our edits done before you start your work. Let me know if that works and if you have an estimated start date in mind for that migration, and we will plan accordingly.
Not exactly related but as an FYI I will be on maternity leave from roughly mid May to July sometime.
Thanks,
Rebecca

That's no problem.
What I plan on doing is waiting on the updating page list/sitemap from you and then you'll hear back from us when we have begun development. At that time, I will check in with you to see where we are with content, as we typically have 2-3 weeks between beginning development/beginning content migration and sending you a link to your development site.
Once we have sent the link, we schedule your training and get your ready for launch.
Until then, if you have any images that you want to send our way, please do!

Hi Veronica,
Thanks for sending the site map; it looks like you had the original version before the edits we had sent to Sam. I updated the google doc you sent over with those edits so that we should be on the same page with how we want the new site to be organized. Thanks for checking! If you have different recommendations on what should be accordion style versus static page style, let us know. Can we put a link within an accordion style pop out section? We are thinking to do this under the "Prayer Resources" accordion page.
After our meeting today with the web committee, we have determined that many of our existing pages require major edits, and that it would be easier for the whole process if we just had you build the skeleton but not migrate the actual body text into the pages. This way, we can have our committee members review and rewrite the text. It forces us to clean house and saves you all time rather than migrating data we will just delete.
If anything, the pages that we identified as remaining the same or requiring minor edits that could be migrated in full are the two history pages and then the page that is currently on our site under "youth ministry" will be converted into the accordion list under the new site map "youth discipleship." Photo galleries could be migrated although we were interested in the photos having captions - not sure when that happens in the process.
Finally, will there be a search feature on the site? I recall discussing it with the sales rep when we first started and I can't recall what the end of that discussion was.
Our committee members are going on vacation for the next 2-3 weeks - would that possibly line up that the draft site would be ready by then?
Thank you,
Rebecca

Rebecca,
Thank you for updating the Google Doc for us. That's extremely helpful. I'll go through the map and see if I have any suggestions or insight. As for putting a link into an accordion, you can, but it would work as though they open up the accordion item and then there is a link displaying. We can go through this when we have a training if you need help understanding.
As for the migration, we can do as much or as little migration as you'd like. I have made note that we will migrate the history pages and the Youth Ministry (Youth Discipleship) pages will be migrated by Diocesan. The rest can be managed by your team after we have trained you, which we will schedule when we send you the link to the development site.
There IS a search feature that will search through your pages and posts. We will be adding it by the myParish App button in the header as a little search icon. If you have something else in mind for it, please let me know. Since we are still in the development phase, we have a little wiggle room.
Currently, we expect the website to be ready for you to view and be trained on in about 3-4 weeks, so this should line up fairly closely with your team's vacation. Also, is it possible for me to join them on this long vacation? Sounds fantastic, haha!

Good morning Rebecca,
I just wanted to let you know that your website is currently #1 in the project queue, which means that we should begin working on it next week. I know your team will be on vacation, but I just wanted to give you a little bit of a heads up.
I know I mentioned it a while back, but I wanted to ask if you were comfortable with Diocesan moving content or if you'd like for Diocesan to only move certain pages then move the rest yourself. It can definitely help cut costs, but may extend the launch date.
Also, if you or anyone at the parish has high-resolution images for us to use, please let me know and I can set up a Google Drive folder for you to put those in.
Thanks so much and let me know if you have any other questions,
Veronica Alvarado

Hi Veronica,
You guys can migrate the pages that you mentioned in your last email, but we will need to redevelop the content on the other pages (lots of stuff out there that we don't need from the existing site...).
If you can create and share a google folder with me, we do have some images. You can access some of them here:
https://josephknorrphotography.pixieset.com/g/guestlogin/churchgoodshepardreligouseducation/?return=%2Fg%2Fchurchgoodshepardreligouseducation%2F
To access the gallery, use the following case-sensitive password: Gallery Password: tGWHG2chJA
Use the following 4-digit PIN to download photos: Download PIN: 5581
Thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca,
Sorry about the content questions, I see now that I even made notes for myself.
Here is the working sitemap that we will be using to show what content Diocesan will be moving/creating, as well as marking off the pages that are complete:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Kxyso93UY1RubDhrnGYKE8tHtNnhBWtwQsXfQfu7eq8/edit?usp=sharing
I have made it editable by anyone with a link, so that you can highlight any other pages you'd like us to more, plus then you can continue to use it once you are trained to keep track of what pages are complete.
As for the images, the ones you gave me access to are so great! They really give you a true sense of the church's beauty. I'm excited to use them when i create the site.
Also, Here is the Google Drive folder for you to add any other images you'd like us to add to the site. Add subfolders if you'd like me to place them in specific galleries.

Thanks so much for your patience with me, Rebecca.

No problem - it was not a bother, I was just trying to send an email reply quick before I had to leave the office, sorry if it seemed short. We will work on drafting new pages once Jaci and her husband return - if you are still working on the migration and we have word docs of new page content ready, should we send them over for you guys to upload?
We have two churches, and the photos of the second church are on a flash drive in my office - I'll upload those as soon as I can. I don't plan to be back in my office until Tuesday, is that too late? I can have my husband grab the flash drive when he's in on Thursday if you need.
Are you able to pull photos from our current site, or should we send you anything we want moved as photos? I think Fr. will want the restoration photo gallery moved to the new site, and any other photos of recent events, etc. could be pulled as you see fit. Now that the church is restored, we are working on taking new photos of sacraments taking place in the new church as they occur. Let me know if there are other images you can think of that we ought to gather.
Thanks,
Rebecca

Oh you weren't short at all, Rebecca! I just felt a little silly since we had just talked about it in the previous message and then felt even sillier when I saw that I had already left myself a note, as well.
There is no rush on the pages/content, since it will be about 2 weeks before the development site is ready for content and 1-2 weeks after that time that I will be done with content and ready to train you folks. If you have any page content for me in that time, feel free to forward them over to me and highlight them accordingly on the Final Sitemap Google Doc. That way I have it or at least know to ask for it.
Since you have 15 hours of content migration/strategy quoted out and only a handful of pages currently ready for me to move, you should definitely have time to give me some of the content to move. Still, if you'd prefer to save the money, you can add the content yourselves once you are trained.
In terms of photos, again, there is not a big rush, it's just something I'd like to stay on top of so that there is no delay in getting your website out to you. We can pull the photos off the website with a program we have, so that shouldn't be an issue. However, if you plan on having us only move certain galleries/pages of images, feel free to take note of that on the Final Sitemap Google Doc. As I mentioned earlier, this is what we will be using to keep track of the pages Diocesan creates and migrates.
If you have any other questions, let me know.

Hi Veronica,
I added the rest of the photos we have, besides what is already on our site. I think the migration plan looks accurate for now, we we develop more page content we will be in touch. Let me know what else you need as you go.
Thanks,
Rebecca
