Project Recap
Rebecca,
Periodically we like to send our clients a recap of their project from a time & cost perspective. Initially, we had quoted a price of $5,250 (75 hours x $70hr) for website creation. We arrived at that price by breaking the web project down as follows:

- 25 hours for design
- 35 hours for the build process
- 15 hours for content migration (bringing your content over from the existing site and creation of new content)
Currently, we've logged 24.5 hours of design, which puts us close to our projected quote. I know that Blake has been working with you to complete the design proofs for your site. Hopefully his final round of changes will hit the mark. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on my staff.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for letting us know. We are hopeful that this next round of changes will achieve our final design. Can you remind me, is there a billing method for hours logged over the estimated time?
Thanks,
Rebecca

Rebecca,
The final billing is for the actual total hours completed on the project. We try to pad each of the processes (design, build, content migration) a little so that the final bill comes in at or below the quoted amount whenever possible. But when we start getting close to the quoted hours in a particular segment I try to keep the client aware of the hours.

Hi Gary,
That makes sense - thanks for clarifying. I will say, just as a full disclosure at this point so it's not an issue later, that we were not completely pleased with the work Sam was doing and I was about to contact someone about it, however, he then gave us his notice that he was leaving the company. I think there was some time lost/more hours spent there in having to go back and ask him to re-do drafts to incorporate things we had been asking for each time we talked and repeatedly were not receiving. However, Blake has been very responsive and his initial changes have been right on track with the discussions we had. I'm pleased with his work and his attentiveness and I think things will progress rapidly and successfully from here. So, as long as things are reasonably close in the end, we understand that estimates are estimates. Looking forward to continuing our work with you guys!
Thank you,
Rebecca
