Good morning Rebecca,


We have reached the point in the development process in which we share the link to the development site with you. I wanted to get into the training and development site.

Training
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via Diocesan's version of TeamViewer. At the beginning of our phone call, I will walk you through how to set up the remote access program. 

During the training sessions, we go over:
  • How to edit the homepage content
  • How to edit the footer
  • How to edit the menu
  • How to create/edit inner pages
  • How to create/edit posts
  • How to create/edit/use image galleries
  • How to create/edit/use online forms
  • Any other questions that you may have
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:
  1. Editing the site basics  (pages, posts, menu, homepage)
  2. Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions (forms, galleries, etc.)
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once. 

Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
There are some other big items that we are still working on, such as:
  • Spacing items in the footer
  • Image Ratio for Events (will be same as News)
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.

- Logo: We are going to leave this as it currently is designed (two lines, with & sign, left justified), but please do remove the "s" on Edward
- Page Heading: Behind the events and news section on the homepage, the beige area has a texture on it - can we change the title area of each page heading so that the beige rectangle behind the page title is opaque, not transparent, and then add that same texture like is behind the events and news area from the homepage? At this point, all the pages should be the same stained glass background photo with this title format.
- Next Training: Would July 24th work for you between 8-11 AM?

Also, we'd like to "relaunch" our app to the parish when we launch the new website. Is there a good contact on the app side of things that we might be able to arrange a call with just to get a refresher/overview of the app as it stands now, since it's been a couple years since we adopted and set it up, and since Jaci is new to the team?

Hi Rebecca,


I have made all the accounts and sent the login information to each of the emails you sent over, as well as, including the Styles Page to reference how things will look for a particular element.

We will keep the logo with the two lines but will remove the 's' from St. Edward. We will update that on the site when the designer is finished with it.

I sent this information in the User Account email but wanted to clarify here that I checked what logo file types we have and all of them are on the site right now. However, we can export the logo as specific file types and send those over though. Is there a specific file type, in which, you wanted the logo to be?

I have made a to-do for the developer to make that adjustment to the Page Title Box. It will be there before the site is launched.

I have scheduled the second training for July 24th from 8-10am (CST), in which we will cover the WP Show Post Plugin, Gravity Forms, and the Envira Gallery, as well as, answer any questions that may come up in your experimenting with the site between now and then. I will send that meeting info in a separate email and we will resend it closer to July 24th.

As for relaunching the myParish App, you can call the number for Diocesan, 877-923-0777 and ask for Marc or Pamela in the App Department; or you can send them an email at myparishapp@diocesan.com and they can relaunch your app for you and walk you through a refresher/overview of it.

There isn't a specific file type we need the logo in, I just wanted to make sure we are getting the best resolution. If it's full resolution on the site and I can download from there, that's fine.
