Cody,

I have had no luck on sizing pictures to be able to us them on the new website. Were can I go to study up on the best way to do this?

Can you take a look at this and also check on/inquire about their calendar? On the homepage & calendar page, there are no events.
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
I talked to her about this like last week. Something with their pds scheduler has gone wrong. I sent her the information for David Cotton and she said that she was going to call him or email him and set things up, but I haven't heard anymore about it. So, I don't know, but I will ask.
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Hello Dianna,

Can you explain a little more about trying to resize images on the site? Where are you trying to use these images and what are you trying to resize them with?

Also, we noticed on your site that the calendar is not displaying any events? Have you been able to reach out to David Cotton and get things squared away with the calendar?

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Cody,

1st – I set up an emergency message and when you pull up our site the entire window is white with the message not allowing anyone to “X” off the screen. Can we fix that? I change the ending date to today and even yesterday and it won’t update.

Hi Cody,

If you look at our site, when I upload images they seem to be too big for the New section. See book club or Ladies bunco night. Both are really large in comparison to the others. What is the best file type and size for images in this section?

Thanks,
Dianna

P.S. I took out our emergency message and it not longer gives us the white page. BUT… will I be able to use this function.(previous email…. I am jumping all over the place 😊)
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Hi Dianna,

So the Emergency Alert, has this happened before or is this the first time it has occurred? It could be a caching issue, so try doing a hard refresh, Instructions Here. If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with your browser's cache, so try clearing that. If that still doesn't work, then maybe Veronica can screen share with you later this week to try a few things with it.

As for the Images, Filetype does not matter for those in the news section, but the best size would be anything landscape and the higher the resolution the better. Right now the Book Club image is 230x219 and being blown up to 395x300, that is why it looks pixelated whereas the flowers image starts as 2560x1709 and shrinks to 395x300 just as the other one. So using bigger dimensions of the ratio 4:3 would be best. I hope that helps.

Let me know if a hard refresh or clearing your cache works for that! You'll have to reenable the emergency alert and then try it. If it doesn't work, I'll let Veronica know to set up a time with you to screen share and work to resolve the issue that way.

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Cody,

I hope you are doing well. I wonder when we click on Pastors Notes from the main website page we can not view the events as well as just the Pastors notes content? If so, how can I achieve this?

Thank you,
Dianna

[cid:image001.jpg@01D5E8B9.4F4EDD60]
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Hello Dianna,

That is not easily achieved since events and pastor's notes are two different categories for posts. Right now, If someone clicks "View All News" on the homepage they can view the "Events" archive and then if they click Pastor's Notes in the "Tiles" they will go to that archive. This is best practice (having them separated) instead of bringing both of them together on one page.

I would have to confer with Veronica and the developer to see if it is possible to bring them together, but right now, the only way I can see of bringing them together would be to eliminate the Pastor's Note category and just file everything under Events, which I would not recommend.

Let me know what you think!

Thank you,

Cody Armock
FROM THE CLIENT Dianna Hinschberger, Assumption Catholic Church - Jacksonville Staff
Cody,

I do not want to view the events once you click in Pastors notes and that is what is happening now.

Click on Pastors notes and you see events first and you have to scroll down to see the picture of the Pastors and his notes.

I am sorry I misread your last email. My apologies. I have removed the posts that were showing above the Pastor's Note. Please double-check that this is what you wanted.

Hi Cody,

Can we please add our weekly bulletin to our website where it is automatically loaded weekly?

Thank you,
Dianna
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Good Morning Dianna,

This page has the bulletins being uploaded automatically. It is also in the dropdown under the News & Events label as the second label. Did you want it to be linked from anywhere else?

Let me know and I'd be happy to add it!

Cody,

Can we add it to the front page of our website where it is visible for parishioners to view? Maybe on the bar where we have all of our web links (adoration pro, my parish app, etc…?) Also we are being asked to live stream or posting of daily Mass on our website. What do you recommend is the best way for us to do this? Is there something in the Knowledge database for me to read?

Thank you,
Dianna

Maybe we should make the Youth Ministry window smaller and add another window on that side of the page for the Mass?

Dianna
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Dianna,

Yeah, we would just have to remove one of the other links and icons for that section, either Adoration Pro, MyParish App, Home of the Mother or Calendar. I would recommend Calendar (not many events going on right now) or Home of the Mother since they are linked in the Tiles beneath.

As for the live stream, we recommend Facebook Live for that or YouTube Live. Facebook live is best because people that like your page will be notified of it already and they will see when you are going live. You can post the link for the Facebook video page on your website and shift one of the tiles to say that, for this I would say maybe removing Pastor's Note, shifting the Youth ministry information to the Pastor's Note tile and then adding in the Livestream information in the primary tile.

Just say the word and I can begin making those changes.

Thank you,

Cody Armock

Cody,

Lets move the Home of the Mother because they already have a box above and their link is listed again in the footer.

Facebook live may be our choice but I am waiting notification. I will get with you on that option as soon as I know something.

Hello Dianna,

I have changed the Home of the Mother button to be the Bulletins link. I have attached a screenshot to show you what it looks like. You can reorder them by clicking and dragging the numbers, much like the menu.

Let me know when you find out about the Facebook live or livestream choice.

Cody,

I need to bring online giving to the forefront. As you know all Masses are cancelled until March 31st or further notice. I noticed we only have a tiny link in the footer of our page under quick links . I need to update that letter as it has our retired Pastors name on it.

I will reach out to you in the morning if you have time.

Thank you,
Dianna
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Good Morning Dianna,

You can link to that page from either the featured buttons, one of which was changed to the bulletins yesterday, or you could put Online Giving in one of the Mosaic Tiles where Youth Ministry, Pastor's Notes, etc. are. You can also edit the Online Giving page to change the Pastor's name by logging into the site and going to the "Online Giving" page and changing it in the paragraph block.

Let me know if you need more help in changing those things.

Hi Cody,

They are recording the Mass right now so we can post on the website. Plans will be to do live streaming by next week. I will defiantly need to re-organize the tiles on the home page. What are my best options? Can you help me with this? I will need to learn how to post the recorded and live streaming vidoes as well.

Thank you,
Dianna
TO THE CLIENT Cody Armock, Web Content Specialist at Diocesan
Hello Dianna,

Yeah! Good questions. So, I think the best way would be to remove any tiles that are not vitally important right now or prioritize them so that the live-streaming/videos are in the big tile. That could either link to a page on your site where you post the videos on it, much like the Pastor's Note page. The site does embed youtube videos, so you could do it that way, or you could have links to specific videos if you are doing Facebook.

The Facebook Live Tile could be a link that you post on one of the first tiles as well. Maybe the first tile would be Facebook Live and the Secondary Tile would be to the Videos & Media Page, which I just created under the Parish News page and you could link it in the menu as well.

Over the weekend, you can reach me by sending emails to carmock@diocesan.com, since I won't be checking basecamp much, if at all, and I can do my best to guide you through it there.

Let me know what you are planning to use for the videos and media, and we can go from there.

Thank you & Have a great weekend,

Thank you. The Pastor and Sisters recorded a Mass today that they want me to post tomorrow. The Sisters have not sent me the file yet. I will see if I can get it on the News page. I would like to move the Youth Ministry tile over to the Ministries tile (replace) for now and open up the large tile as you suggested for videos. I will reach out to you tomorrow if you can help me with this. I can not tell you how much i/we appreciate your help during this time (and always)!!! God Bless....
