Good afternoon Cindy,
I hope you have been doing well since you last spoke with Alan!
My name is Cody Armock and my role here in Diocesan's web department is as a content specialist. This means, that in addition to going over what areas of your current website are staying or going, I also help you find the most effective way to layout your website. I will be helping you in this process from now until the training before the launch of the site.
This not only helps us build you a website that is easier to edit and manage but also allows anyone visiting your website to accurately and consistently find the information for which they are looking.
Thinking about content before the design is important because it will make the design process easier and tailor it better to your needs. It is similar to building a house. Content strategy is figuring out how many bedrooms and square footage you need when picking floorplans. The design process is the customizing of the space (walls, flooring, exterior, colonial vs modern style, etc.). Content migration/creation is the filling of your rooms with furniture and your possessions. Without the content strategy process, the house may not suit your needs.
Below are links to Google documents of your current and proposed sitemap. The current sitemap shows your current site's menu structure and flow. The proposed sitemap is what we suggest for your menu based on our previous experience and what would work best in terms of usability. The proposed sitemap is created to optimize the flow and look of your site.
You can edit the proposed sitemap however you would like, adding pages, removing pages, etc. The proposed sitemap will act as a guide for the content migration process. Please edit the document directly to ensure that the same edits stay throughout all versions and that the content migration process is accurate.

Once you approve the suggested sitemap, we will be ready for the design process. A designer will reach out to you to begin the design process when they complete their current project and we have received the final version of the suggested sitemap.

I have not received your Google Doc for the edited sitemap, I don't think. You can replace the document here (Proposed Sitemap) with your version by copy and pasting your version or you could add it to the bottom if you feel more comfortable with that.

I don't think there is anything on my end to discuss with them as the proposed sitemap is ready to go and now it is just waiting until the site has been developed and we can begin content migration once that is nearing completion.

I took another look at the sitemap today and have combined your changes to create one sitemap consistent among the proofs and which we will use for the content migration process.

As for the launch, we just need the login credentials to your GoDaddy account for the domain or the domain contact to give instructions to on how to change the A record. Without one of those, we cannot launch the site.

That log in gets us into the Wordpress for accboca.net (http://accboca.net) and we assumed it was the same for GoDaddy. We are trying to get info from the previous admin. Martina is also trying to get info from GoDaddy.

We see the ascensionboca.org (http://ascensionboca.org) site is live and it looks great. We are still trying to find the log in so you can kill the old site. I just had to submit everything but my blood type to GoDaddy to get our credentials. Apparently, no one thought it was important to write that stuff down 8 years ago.

Sounds good! Just let me know when they get back to you. You may want to add something on the old site (accboca.net) to direct people to the new site if you have not, that way they can favorite/bookmark the new URL and know that there is a new site.
Alternatively, accboca.net is not set to expire till 9/9/2023, so we could set up a redirect for a couple of months and then cut it off after people get used to the new domain. This is what we would recommend instead of killing the domain immediately.

The login information I have for that m*** email doesn't seem to be working. I'm at wit's end with this whole thing.
Cindy started the process to recover the GoDaddy account under her name and email instead of whoever set it up initially. It takes 3 days for them to get back to us and transfer the account to us. So I wonder if your developer can just try this process again when we do have the account recovered and updated. Please let me know.

The developer can do that. We are seeing if we can redirect accboca.net to the new site, but without the GoDaddy domain information, that may be a bit of an issue and may not be possible, but we are checking into it.

1 - How do we make the top banner picture scroll?
2- There was supposed to be an announcement bar built in below the Watch Mass here section for special promotional announcements. We can't find it if it's there or how can we add it?
3- Can we add plug ins? We noticed that our options under APPEARANCE are limited.
