Development Link and Training
Good afternoon Fr Dennis and Veronica,
We have reached the point in development at which we share a link to the development site with you.
Training Sessions
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via a screen share program. We will send over the meeting link and phone number in a later email.
During the training sessions, we go over:
- How to edit the homepage content
- How to edit the footer
- How to edit the menu
- How to create/edit inner pages
- How to create/edit posts
- How to create/edit image galleries
- How to create/edit online forms
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:
Session 1: Editing the site basics
Session 2: Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions
This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once.
Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.
Development Site URL: https://stannwpb.diocesanweb.org/
Please let us know what dates and times work best for the training or if you have any other questions,
Thank you!

Hi Alan,
Thanks for this. I will let you know. I do have a question regarding the content that was transferred over and the site map. I am not sure if anyone is still working on it or if this is the final product per diocesan, or will we be responsible for re-organizing the content?
I am not seeing several things we have requested.
1. The Memorial wall.
2. In previous emails with Cody we have talked about “All Parish Registration forms in one place” .. Part of the issue with our old site was, once a form was updated we had to scramble trying to remember where the old form was and if it was on several different pages, what ended up happening is there were several versions of the form. I notice on the “Baptism” tab, the form is on a button on the top, which is fine too it’s not what we discussed but we are flexible and you all are doing a wonderful job. If this is the route Diocesan is going, then it should be consistent with all Sacramental tabs such as Confirmation and Communion. Those registrations were left as they were with the old site, which is not user friendly, and people really have to search to find them.
3. Under RCIA we need a “RCIA adapted for Teens”
4. Youth Formation – I notice images of small children, which will be good for our Children’s liturgy of the word during our mass, however this is also intended for our Youth Ministry (teenagers) and we need a separate one for Young Adults – so not for sacramental preparation information – again I feel this confusion may be based on how our old site was structured.
5. Hispanic Ministry- I only see 2 ministries on there, based on site map approved and sent to Cody, we are missing: Ministerios Liturgicos, Damas Catolicas En Accion, and J.O.S.U.E
6. A lot of the contact information for Ministry leaders is very old, most of this was already updated on our old website so I don’t know how the content was transferred over. Again, the old site was a mess and there were many tabs with repetitive content so this may be why.
These were the main things I have noticed, and just wondering if this is what we will have to update in-house, or if you were waiting to address these things during training. Once I know who the second person that will join me for training is I will get with them to see when a good day is and let you know.
Warm Blessings,
Veronica Matias

For the Memorial Wall, let her know that we are still building it out but did not want to delay the first training session since they were looking to launch as soon as possible.
We can train them over the Memorial Wall during the second training session.

Hello Veronica and Fr. Dennis,
1. We had a discussion today on building out the Memorial Wall, so that will be completed either before our first training or definitely before the second.
2. I added all the forms to the Register with Us Page. I will go through within the next couple days and removed the old links on other pages and replaced them with a link to the registration form page. So, now everything is on one page.
3. Do you have the content for RCIA adapted for Teens? I can add that or we can add that during training as a real example.
4 & 5. Content can be changed later on and I have the pages that didn't have any content in draft mode, since publishing pages with no content is considered bad practice and how websites end up with pages that are "coming soon" and have not been changed since 2016. Also, the images for youth formation can be changed. We will cover this in training.
6. This contact information can be changed relatively easily and we can go over it in the first training, if you'd like.
Thank you and I look forward to our training together, just let me know when you and the second person are free and we will try to schedule a training.
Let me know if you have any questions or when you have more information about the training times.

Hi Cody,
Adding registration files to site. Have a question, so I added the file- but it shows up as a link and a download button next to it.
But on the ones you added the link is the button. So I added a button block, but don't remember how to link the file to that button.

Hello Veronica,
So that is the difference between a file block and the button block. I used the button block. The easiest way to add the link to the button block is to go to the Media Library, click on the file you want and then triple-click on the "Copy Link" link address to select all of it and then copy it and paste it into the button link.
Alternatively, you can grab the link from the file block on the frontend of the site by right-clicking the link and then selecting "Copy Link Address" and then paste it into the button link attribute.
I hope that helps!
