Project Recap
Good morning. Periodically we like to send a recap of the project from a time & cost perspective. Initially, we had quoted a price of $6500 (93 hours x $70hr) for website creation. We arrived at that price by breaking the web project down as follows:
- Design: 25 hours budgeted/12.9 hours used
- Build: 45 hours budgeted/49.8 hours used
- Content Migration: 22 hours budgeted/18.6 hours used
Which brings our current cost to $5,581. Which puts us close to our quoted amount. As of right now, we have 3.4 hours left in the budget for Content Migration.
With the hours left we could get through most, if not all of the content changes that were sent over in the Website Review Document.
OR
We could convert the forms into online fillable ones, namely, the Parish Registration Form, the Ministry Sign-Up Form, and the Religious Education Form. Note: Does your diocese require parishes to use standardized forms? We know from experience that some diocese require parishes to use their forms for items like this.
Unfortunately, with the time budgeted, it would be very difficult to get through both of the choices above. With the two training sessions that will be scheduled shortly, we believe that you'd fully be able to make the content changes in the Website Review Document, whereas the forms are more advanced, so we recommend that Diocesan makes the forms and you make the content changes after being trained. This would save the parish some money. Please let us know what you would like to do.

Good afternoon, Gary,
I agree with you - I think that the online forms should be a priority.
We would like to get a feeling for when the new site will be available
to us so that we can begin filling some of the holes; also, how long
after that the current site would be deactivated and the new put online
for public availability.
I think that at this stage most of the changes we need to make are
fairly easy to accomplish (re-targeting links, editing verbiage, etc.);
mainly things we have already been doing on the current site. I think
we should be in fairly good shape once we have full access to the new
version.
The only other thing we are missing is that the development site as it
exists right now is fully functional only on desktop displays; laptops,
tablets, and phones have increasingly degraded display and performance,
in that order. Is it a given that this will be remedied?

Dan,
Yes, there are some tweaks the team needs to do for the mobile version (and screen less than 1080 display). Veronica had mentioned to me that they would make those changes post-training, along with any changes that come up during the training session.
