Development Link & Training

Good afternoon Fr. Terry & Janice,


We have reached the point in development at which we share a link to the development site with you.


First, I wanted to go over the missing content from the website and then get into the training and development site. 

Things We Need From You
We still need the following items from you. Please let us know if you will be sending them or if you'd like us to remove them from the site.
  • Images of both parishes for the Landing Page (able to switch the images at any time)


Training Sessions
The first training session typically takes ~2 hours and is done remotely via a screen share program. We will send over the meeting link and phone number in a later email. 

During the training sessions, we go over:
  • How to edit the homepage content
  • How to edit the footer
  • How to edit the menu
  • How to create/edit inner pages
  • How to create/edit posts
  • How to create/edit image galleries
  • How to create/edit online forms
Since this can be a lot, we break the training down into two sessions:

Session 1: Editing the site basics
Session 2: Editing the additional site features & answering follow-up questions

This is completely up to your learning pace and how much you feel comfortable covering at once. 


Development Site Link
Something to keep in mind is that the site is not quite completed yet, with the largest thing being mobile responsiveness. That said, it is best to look at the development site on a desktop computer, rather than a laptop or smaller screen. Mobile development/responsiveness is something that the developer completes after the training so that he can update any changes along with the original development!

There are some other big items that we are still working on, such as:
  • Image Button Font Styling
Other than that, if you see anything that alarms you (design or functionality), please let me know and we can address your concerns.

Good morning Cody,

You should have the images of both parishes as they are used on our weekly bulletin. One of your designers actually took the power lines out of the pics for each of our churches. If you do not have access to those I will upload the pics again.

I look forward to the two training sessions. Let me know if there is anything else I can be doing meanwhile.

What days and times would you be free for a ~two hours training? This week is pretty open for me, so my schedule is pretty flexible, but just let me know when you are free and I will do my best to work something out.

I will add the images, my brain must not have been working Friday since I remember the content folder on Drive now. I can show you how to replace those pictures when we do the training.

Just FYI……St., Benedict Home Page only has Archdioceses of Louisville and St. Aloysius at the bottom.
St. Benedict Home page has Archdiocese of Louisville, Contact Us, USCCB, Vatican and St. Benedict.

I have a question. Is it possible to have a "moving banner" run across our webpages for emergencies? Like, Masses are cancelled due to bad weather or a meeting has been cancelled, etc?
