User Accounts for New Site

To: Bennet and Beth McTighe

Hello you two,


I am Veronica, the content specialist here in Diocesan's web department. I saw that you asked Michael about adding users with specific roles and access. I can help you with this.

For right now, I can create user accounts for:
  • Lisa Foy with access to only the preschool pages
  • Jessica Duron with access to only Life Teen, EDGE and confirmation pages.
I will need their usernames and emails to create their user accounts.

As for setting them up, we give them the role of "Author" so they can only access pages that they are the author of.

Here is how to set a user to be an author of specific pages

  1. Once logged in, click "All Pages" under "Pages
  2. When you hover over a page title, the "Quick Edit" option comes up. Click.
  3.
    Here is where you would pick which user will be the sole author. • Download
  4. Once the user/author is selected, click the blue "Update" button.
As an author, when they log in, they will only be able to see the pages that they are an author of. (Keep in mind that there can only be one author per page.)

Please let me know if there are any other users you would like me to create and what pages they should be authors of.

Hi Veronica,
Thanks for helping us with this. I’m going to add Bennett to this list. She needs to have admin privileges, but I think it will be helpful for us if we can easily see who changed a page and when. That way we won’t redo each other’s work.
